Honestly it doesn’t matter if ABC returns Kimmel and his show to air. The exercise (fascist politicians exerting their influence through the oligarchy to punish critical speech) has served its purpose (to be a chilling effect on anyone with the mind to speak truth to power).

It’s a stern tug on the leash.

This is why independent media is so important, and we need a lot more of it.

This is why the show coming back isn’t enough; the execs who made the decision to comply with fascists need to themselves be ousted, at the bare minimum.

I think its the opposite from your take. The fascists got knocked down and now look weak. Other organizations that try to capitulate now see there’s backlash that happens and should be more emboldened to reject the fascist demands.

My speech is already chilled. Well, except around here where I’m an unapologetic antifascist.

I dare not fly a flag, plant a sign, wear a T-shirt or cut a bumper sticker if it’s anti-MAGA. I would be vandalized at best, threatened with violence at worst. And the threat may well end in me shooting someone. Almost did a couple of months ago.

So, yeah, that’s where we’re at in my pocket of the USA. If I exercise my 1st, may have to exercise my 2nd.

There have to be a few shooting deaths in order to preserve the 2nd amendment. It’s what that guy would have wanted.

I’m surprised no ICE agents have been killed. If masked men come to my house, or in public, for my immigrant wife, I’m shooting. FFS, you can buy POLICE patches on Amazon. And people simply trust that masked men in random baseball hats are legitimate?!

Not macho talk. I’ve thought on this long and hard and I’ll die before I see my wife dragged off, crying and screaming. And again, I have to chill my speech or it may come to that.

I don’t necessarily think that would be the wrong thing to do in that situation, but wouldn’t it most likely end up with your death and your wife dragged off somewhere with no one left who knows she’s even gone?

I’m all for shooting masked thugs and I don’t have a good answer here, I just think there are no good outcomes

He usually pillories Trump, so it would be remarkable if he didn’t go after him. Since there are no reports that he apologized to Kirk’s family or had to donate money to TPUSA, I’m guessing he’s coming back on his own terms here.

I appreciate Kimmel but I’m partial to Stewart taking that Zelenskyy title in terms of his actual capacity to lead and depth of knowledge. He pretty much singlehandedly bullied Republicans of Congress to pass legislation for first responders and veterans.

Anyone remember the Rally to Restore Sanity with Colbert / Stewart?

I always liked watching Jon Stewart but he earned my respect when he went to bat for the 9/11 first responders who suffered illnesses related to their service. Browbeating and shaming Congress to their faces repeatedly, until they finally passed legislation to care for those people. He didn’t do it because they were all on the same political “side” as him. He did it because they needed it and they earned it.

The man has more integrity than most of the people in D.C. and fucking balls of steel.

This is Business 101. Customers are hard to come by and once you piss them off, you’ve lost them, likely forever. Don’t know what other countries are like, but I suspect their customers are mostly like Americans, unforgiving.

Less than a week after it was taken off the air under pressure from the Trump administration, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to late night on Tuesday, ABC parent company Disney confirmed.

Trump is going to have a heart attack.

          Ignorance is bliss…

An intelligent person can see when shit is going to be bad, a moron will just keep insisting everything is fine, especially if their whole lives someone has bailed them out of everything.

A moral person feel shame, and is stressed about the harm he causes others. Somone without empathy literally never thinks how anyone else feels.

It’s not that trump is healthy or made a deal with the devil.

It’s just for stupid self centered people, they don’t care about anything except themselves.

After making such a big deal about Kimmel going away. And he immediately comes back…

If Kimmel goes hard on trump, especially insulting his masculinity for hiding behind the FCC and attacking free speech cuz he can’t take a fucking joke…

He might legit have a heart attack, and that will be effective at chipping away his support.

It’s Disney. They’ve never been a paragon of virtue. They’ve wielded the law as a club against their competition many times. They’ve had copyright law amended specifically so that Mickey Mouse doesn’t fall into the public domain.
