These is one of the oldest Linux memes. No, they aren’t serious. I have a hard time believing anyone here doesn’t actually know how to exit vim properly.

No, that doesn’t make any sense. We need something convoluted so that people don’t remember it next time it’s needed.
Exactly, and if you can portray it as just a coincidence then you can keep selling it without everyone coming against you.
It could be fake controversy, or it could be a fake excuse to sell Hitler junk. Maybe it’s both. Either way, sounds like they’re not a very good person.
I think if it has pedal assist as an option it’s OK, as long as it doesn’t have more than a certain amount of power. I’m not certain, but I think it’s something like that.
This isn’t saying it isn’t hard to be a cosmetologist, it’s saying it’s far too easy to become a cop. I don’t see anyone saying we should relax the regulations for cosmotology, rather we need to raise them on the police. It’s just absurd that an LEO can order you around, arrest you, and sometimes kill you and the requirements for the job are so low.
It’s fun, just not what I was hoping the series would become.
It follows the events better I guess is what I should say. The new one cuts a lot more of it out and adds a lot more that wasn’t there. The tone of the old one is totally wrong and the new one is more accurate.
That said, neither are perfect. All of the adaptations make a lot of changes
I have to say, I recently realized there was a fourth and I hadn’t seen the third, and I didn’t care for those two. The first on was amazing. The second was good, but started introducing too much gun-magic the third and fourth had lost all the authenticity the first one was known for. The first everyone talked about how it was somewhat realistic and people moved and behaved in a believable way. In the third and fourth everyone is just running around using their jacket to block bullets while firing blindly but perfectly accurately. It got really dumb.
I’m seeing a resurgence of people liking the '80s version, but it’s mostly because of the camp, but also because it’s more accurate to the book, until the end. The miniseries is honestly possibly the best version, though most people don’t know it exists. The new one is by far the most interesting, and it sounds and looks nearly perfect.
This is my stance. I love the new Dune. It’s less of a remake instead of a different adaptation of the book(s), but regardless it isn’t original. I generally hate the reusing of IPs just for the sake of it, but it feels right for Dune right now. For the other 90% of trailers before it that were remakes, I couldn’t be bothered to care about them.
That wouldn’t be an issue even if they weren’t tried. Alleged is one of those words that you can add to make it factually correct, as long as someone is making the allegations. Repotrting on facts is always fine (in the US at least). Now the person making the allegations could be libeling them, but not the group reporting it.
Saying they’re amazing is, but that’s not what you said they said.
Defending can be, but it isn’t necessarily. I’ll defend a lot of people or things that people are attacking for no reason. That said, defending someone from a legitimate critique is usually done out of support, but still sometimes it’s done out of a feeling of necessity.
I used to play Counter Strike a lot, and I generally played with randoms. It feels weird (but in a nice way) the number of people who have told me how nice or attractive my voice is. Admittedly it was mostly guys, and I’m straight, but it’s still a good compliment to get. I did make a lot of female friends on there though, with me consistently playing with one group. I don’t know if this is because of my voice or because I just treated them normally, but the voice didn’t hurt.
… I don’t really know why I wrote this. I guess just as a general agreement women like rumbly voices, which I don’t think was needed. Oh well.
Ok, those aren’t the same thing as supporting him. I will admit I don’t care for his policies, but they have been better than I expected, which is something. Also, yeah the president doesn’t have the power to do that much alone. It requires congress to play a role, which the democrats don’t have enough control in to do. Those are extremely valid things to say, and you can say them while still being critical of Biden. It sounds like you want people to only be critical of him, which is just as bad as only supporting him. We need to understand there’s more beyond the one man or we will fail.
I don’t know where you guys see it, but I never see any stans for Biden who can’t admit his flaws like we see with Trump supporters. The only support I see for Biden is for the general election, not for him or his policies overall. I only see people being critical of Biden but saying we need to vote for him anyway. As bad as it is, there is no Palestine with Trump, there’s possibly no democracy with Trump, there’s only likely a lot of suffering for the regular people with Trump.
I hadn’t heard of them, but looking it up it seems like tech startup garbage. You don’t need to re-invent the car. It looks like they made a silly design just to stand out. It also sacrafices a lot for that design. It’s a two seater with very little storage room and probably not great for taller people like me. It also seems to have very little space for crumple-zones, so I’m curious as to how safe it is in an accident.
A definition for soldier is one who serve in an army and an army is “a large organized body of armed personnel trained for war especially on land” (emphasis mine, note not explicitly on land) or “a unit capable of independent action and consisting usually of a headquarters, two or more corps, and auxiliary troops”
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/army
The Air Force absolutely fits the latter definition, and it fits the former as well if you don’t consider the land part exclusive, which it isn’t.
Other definitions of soldier also exist, which do not require it be a member of an army, but a military in general. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/soldier
If you’re going to be pedantic, at least be pedantic and accurate. There’s no sense in being pedantic and wrong.
Well, it’s more than that. I think this is even mentioned in the new movies, but there’s a phenomenon in Dune called “drum sand” that is a section of sand that somehow amplifies vibrations. Obviously it doesn’t matter how any of this works. It’s a story where, if you get high enough, you can predict possible futures. No shit it isn’t realistic. No one cares.
He was that guy working on the music for that 0x10c game, right?
