I bought a RedHat Unleashed book as a kid back in the late 90s simply because it came with an iso for RH 5 already burned to CD. I didn’t have a cd-r drive, and I couldn’t figure out how to boot from my external Zip Disk drive. I kinda miss Zip Disk, those were pretty cool.

There are definitely different feelings but there are so many factors that enter into it there’s no good way I know of to know the answer to this question. Was it a circumference difference or a muscle tone difference or a lubrication difference or several other possible factors?

I will say I dated a girl once that used the nuvaring birth control and that was a unique and noticeable different feeling…

What’s wild is I have had a 1TB one of these running for like 4 or 5 years now without issues, and I’ve had 2 nice Samsung’s (a 970 and 980) die in that time frame. I’ve basically come to the conclusion that modern consumer storage can’t be trusted or relied on in general. Robust back-up solutions of anything I’m worried about losing, preferably to a cloud service (or 2)…

Years ago I had a glass light cover shatter in the hall between my bed and toilet. Thought I got it all swept up. Two weeks later, a 2am half asleep piss trip ended in 10 minutes of digging a glass shard out of my foot and stopping the bleeding. I now wear something with a sole very nearly at all times.

Same. Honestly my eyes aren’t good enough to notice a difference between 1080p and 1440p (or 4k) at the scale of my pc monitor, but I damn sure notice a difference between 60 fps and 200 fps…

Honestly, brownies. From scratch versus box I hardly notice a difference and in some instances the box was better… And the box is a lot less work.

A heat pump still costs energy to run… And running it in reverse to cool a room is the exact same process as running an ac to cool a room. It’s all phase change cooling which we’ve been doing for decades. The only possible innovation that could be had here is using the waste heat instead of just releasing it to the outside environment, but that requires wanting to heat something else while you need to cool the server room.

So you’re saying to just let the servers get as hot as they want and ignore it? What is this heat pump going to be heating?

If you don’t have anything you are wanting to heat up, adding a heat pump doesn’t help.

Absolutely use it at least weekly. My partner has Bluetooth wireless earbuds and they are always a problem - dropping connection, short and inconsistent battery life, dying at inopportune times, etc. They don’t seem to even notice these issues because they’ve used wireless for so long, but it always drove me nuts everytime I tried switching.

You have to layer the individual plys yourself. It’s a build your own toilet paper kit.
