You absolutely can, right now. Once.
The gamer in me says to set a timer and stop playing at 1:59.
While I know what you meant, I’m going with this regardless.
They are definitely by shape (mostly, sweet potato is the odd one out), not seasoning. You can add Cajun seasoning to any of those and they’d still be what shape they are. Just like I prefer curly fries, but I don’t like the ones from Arby’s because of their seasoning.
naticus@lemmy.worldto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Bello Bear Episode 78 “Peanut Butter Payback”English3·7 days agoMany, many moons ago I worked in a 24/7 restaurant as a cook. I was one of the few 3rd shift cooks on the weekends and there were a few servers I worked with who were a pain in the ass. One was Casey and she definitely did everything her way even when everyone was telling her she was doing it wrong.
Well one night I had already had enough of her garbage when she says through the window that she thinks she’ll have a grilled chicken salad. I said to just let me know when she’s ready for it. 15 min later, she punches it in and I get to work.
I put this together as perfect looking as I could make it, everything lined up exactly right and it looked just like the menu in every way. What wasn’t like the menu was the long line of dill pickle slices I put under the chicken. Couldn’t see it at all. I put this thing up in the window for her and have her a grin.
She thanked me and grabbed it, and immediately took it out to a table for a customer. I realized I done fucked up. You don’t mess with a customer’s food, ever. I had NEVER seen an order for a grilled chicken salad on 3rd shift.
I was preparing to get yelled at by the manager and to be written up. I waited for 10 min… Nothing. 20 min. Nope. 30 min? Casey comes up to the window to say she wanted to have her grilled chicken salad now and also to pass on her customer’s compliments to the kitchen because it was the best salad they ever had there.
I then told her what happened and she just laughed and thanked me because she also got a pretty big tip out of it.
naticus@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Apparantly, you can no longer reset the "User" BIOS Password with the "Admin" BIOS Password? Why??? I literally am the Admin lol.English2·7 days agoYes, it’s absolutely a hellscape out there right now. It was bad before, with poorly written requirements and unknowing HR depts, but now applications can be instantly rejected, including when they were suitable candidates.
Good luck!

I literally am the Admin lol.English2·7 days agoIt can definitely be difficult to find jobs without having a degree, but they do exist. A lot of the time you’ll have to start at the lowest level and work your way up, but knowledge is knowledge and that would be apparent in your performance. Unfortunately because a lot online job applications are now filtered by AI, you may run into issues just getting an interview. Only thing I can suggest is mass-applying to several places and see what gets you a response.
Either way, if you do have a desire to learn and show that in an interview, it’ll always be a positive.
And a quick edit: don’t forget to look at public school districts or other local public offices for IT job, they’re usually needing additional help.
naticus@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Type of key? And how to get broken part out of lock?English16·7 days agoYep. Use a rubber band in the screw when trying to unscrew it to help with a bit extra grip and then never use those screws again either. Either that or use a Dremel to turn it into a flat head screw and remove them.

I literally am the Admin lol.English7·8 days agoDon’t discount your own knowledge just because you’re self taught. I’ve been in IT for 26 years now and help in managing over 100k user accounts and hundreds of servers, and while I’ve had some formal training, >90% of what I use daily is self taught. It’s a desire for knowledge that matters, not how that knowledge is derived.
Hah, I definitely forgot about that trend, it was pretty short lived.
I should respond so you know it’s not the last one, huh?
Bert and Ernie’s mom? Definitely.
You had it worse then! While there were so so many cats, this was a first date where we didn’t really click and I was happily able to escape as soon as I realized I was in for a bad ride with allergies.
Looks like you already know the joke since you basically explained it. You just don’t have much sense of humor to go with it.
Missed opportunity for “beestiality”.
Bestiality* btw.
That last bit about GRUB is why I never put Windows on the same drive as my Arch, btw install. If they both have their own EFI partitions, Windows doesn’t mess with Linux.
Hopefully PM because also gamer me has no gd idea how to stop gaming at 1:59 am even if I have work in the morning.
