It does dark-theming with config.set(‘colors.webpage.darkmode.enabled’, True), and I run it with JS turned off by default. That gets rid of the vast majority of ads for me.

In the Bobiverse books, a guy uploads his brain into a computer. He then spends years flying accross space, because it takes years to get anywhere. I’ve often dreamed of having a few decades just to work on my fun personal projects, uninterrupted.

I like supporting my creators. I don’t pirate music, because Bandcamp is a thing, and I don’t pirate video games because GoG is a thing. I also subscribe to Patreon and the like.
What I don’t like is giving my money to shitty companies that try to tell me how I am allowed to manage/retain/consume that media.
Really? I see links all over the place
lol, I used to do this to my cats all the time when they yawned.
Angry looks followed. Totally worth it.
I actually love email. While yes, this post is accurate, email is the most filterable communication system that I have. Since I have my own email-server, and I know how procmail rules work, I can tightly control who is allowed to contact me, and what folders their messages go into. It also has great crowd-sourcing of known spammers, that I can pull from to help me filter out spammy IP addresses.
Every other message system only has a “report spam” button, that is dependent on the service admins, and doesn’t actually stop people from sending me annoying junk-mail.
You would be surprised how many people “don’t know why they feel bad”, and “don’t know how that got in there”. People will go through a lot to avoid admitting that they like things in the poop-chute
If anyone tells you that your teenage years are the best years of your life: Smile, nod, and slowly back away. Then never talk to that person again if you can help it.
No, I don’t. In fact, their wikipedia page shows activity up to 2022
The Twilight Zone episode was Shatner, the Twilight Zone movie was Lithgow. Both are great and worth a watch
Anyways, the point I’m making is that your experience was just being unlucky with the quality of the professors you got and the style of teaching they favored.
I think the problem is that experience is pretty common (at leat for my experience in the US). I only learned to love math later in life because I started getting interested in physics, and then I realized that math wasn’t rote memorization.

Every “liberal” city that I’ve lived in has had these, or a variant. So I’d have to say yes, it is liberalism in action
