Dang, China must be doing well if the last bad thing they did was about 35 years ago. You’re free to talk about all the bad things your country did much more recently so I guess that’s better. You have no say in whether your country can and can’t do bad things, but you can talk about it. That’s very nice!

Now you’re getting it, it is very nice! We can even protest and stuff. And we won’t end up in jail! Seriously, if you love it so much, move to China/Russia/other-wannabe-communist-shithole and enjoy!

And no, the last bad thing they did isn’t 35 years ago, but you know that as well, don’t you, little troll?

I just find it funny that people trot out the 1989 tiananmen square massacre over and over again like it’s some kind of gotcha. Protest all you want, but when protesting doesn’t do shit, it’s not really worth anything. Tell me how all the protests and speaking out against the Iraq war stopped the US from invading Iraq and staying there to this day. Tell me how all the protests against the US support of israel carrying out genocide is doing anything to change that. If you’re allowed to protest, it’s because your protests change nothing.

You don’t seem to grasp the difference between you being free to have an opinion and you being mysteriously disappeared if you have an opinion.

I love how you just agree with all the bad shit China does and say it’s actually good. FYI, I’m not from the US and while I think that USA is definitely a better place to be than China is, it’s not like it’s in my top 10 best countries to live or something.

I never said I agreed with China, just pointing out that you should examine your freedoms and what they really mean. I also thought it was silly how the tiananmen square massacre gets brought up endlessly like it’s some sort of trump card. Finally, I had a feeling you’re not from the US, but I used the US as an example since it’s often boasted about as the prime example of a “free country”.

Except they’re not doing well - they continue to aggressively suppress speech about Tiananmen square 35 years later, they’re genociding the Uyghurs, erasing Tibet, suppressing Hong Kong, preparing to annex Taiwan, and pulling some transparent bullshit in the Spratley Islands to name just a few.

…but you know your comment was dishonest - you don’t need me to point out how obviously full of shit you are.

There is nothing inherent in that type of work that would serve to create these conditions, the reason we outsource this labor is easy, you gladly buy stuff made with slave work, corporations want the cheapest production, and these nations are more than happy to destroy their own populace, because shocker, they are just imperialist state capitalists in the case of China/North Korea.

So, no, the fact that they need suicide safety nets is 100% a China issue.

I didn’t say that it is inherent to that work, just pointing out that outsourcing to countries with those issues is merely delegating responsibility, just like how moving manufacturing to China and then shipping products back doesn’t mean the west cut down emissions when they’ve simply moved it somewhere else. I don’t gladly buy stuff made with slave work, I have no choice in the matter other than to not buy products (which is a choice I often take), because the two or three companies that control every industry get to decide where and how stuff is made.
