Nationalize the fucking grid and be done with it. IF people want to profit from it, they can buy T-bonds.

Having any part of the grid susceptible to the needs of “the shareholders” is begging for problems given the way of everything else in our late state capitalism here. Anything beholden to shareholders is whored out and we cannot be doing that with critical infrastructure that is also so closely tied to disaster when coupled with climate issues and (human) error.

Republicans want to whore out the economics of everything they can while white nationalists continue to attack the grid attempting to bring about their “end times” they keep warning about. Both groups should be on posters and warned about daily, they are the biggest threat to the grid besides load accommodation itself.
