    I believe my asthma as a kid was actually misdiagnosed anxiety, which actually stemmed from ADHD. The doctors and nurses led me to predefined descriptions of what I was experiencing and I just said “Yes”.

    Also, I’m sure your child having asthma is easier to treat than your child experiencing severe anxiety.

      I have both and while it is usually easy to tell the difference I have been fooled before. Also , since my breathing is always at least a little impaired, albuterol helps me breathe better during a panic attack and often helps a little. It’s not surprising doctors would misdiagnose in a kid. Unfortunately if I take too much albuterol, the antsiness from the inhaler then just adds to the feelings of anxiety.
