This is disgusting. Whatever greedy and seedy shit is going through the head of the producers, this isn’t respectful nor appropriate as an homage to the artist’s life or the art form. Get a good talented star that can both act and sing and pay her lavishly to interpret Piaf in the biopic. Piaf’s soul and memory would be more solemnly honored by the young people entering the art learning and singing her songs than by a cold heartless machine making a pantomime of what a human sounds like.

I can’t wait to completely forget everything about this movie thirty seconds after moving on from this post.

Hollywood has “spend” problem. This seems like a movie that deserves to be lovingly crafted and acted by people who care about the source material and with a relatively low budget so that it is easy to recover the cost and feasible to make more of its kind. Instead, they’re going to make a tech abomination for at least ten times the amount that it will gross.

Ah, great, who needs actors?? Finally, talent that can be possessed and owned without pay!

This AI nonsense has gotta stop, it’s just more excuses for wealthy people and companies to stop paying people for work.

I quite like this trend. Maybe Warner Bros can bring back Bette Davis and James Cagney from their 1930s heyday; it might make their endless stream of superhero movies more interesting.

If they want to use old faces and dead actors, what makes you think that they’ll make new original scripts ?

Did you purposely completely ignore the actors strike or something?

I’m left-leaning and sympathetic to the cause of unions.

However, there will come a day AI & robots can do all work humans can do, except cheaper. That world needs Universal Basic Income, and societies harnessing that productive power to ensure everyone’s basic needs.

Soon seeing this in terms of labor and unions stopping AI & robots will be counter-producitive. The quicker the better the left turn to Basic Income and accept AI & robots doing as much as work as possible, then the better off for all of us.

You lost the plot my friend. The idea is that the AI and robots do the menial mindless and boring work, while humans make art. Not the other way around.
