The resulting error of that selection bias decreases as the sample rate increases - that’s part of the reason why sample rates are a valuable indicator of survey accuracy
But having that discussion is qualitatively different than dismissing whatever assumptions brought by it by saying ‘I don’t believe it’.
He knew 50% was the figure in question and he said ‘i don’t believe anything that comes out of hexbear’. Stands to reason he very well did have that information and simply dismissed it for having come from hexbear.
You didn’t. And we definitely still don’t know that. We don’t know the context but it does seem likely some random user said it without linking a source. It’s really not as complicated as you are making it
Except there’s no factual reason to doubt that demographic except for whatever prejudices you have against them
Unless you count the fact that trans people make up an incredibly small percentage of the population overall. I’m sure OP wasn’t thinking of that when he… Checks notes mentioned it explicitly.
Their existence really has nothing to do with your opinions
Awesome. So next time I or no one else expresses literally any opinion whatsoever on how others live, we’ll all be sure to… Continue not doing that.
Thanks again for your helpful feedback
Edit: op didn’t mention the stat about trans people generally, that was from a comment im falsely remembering as op. But that doesn’t change the point I’m making at all

Their existence really has nothing to do with your opinions about them, and thinking otherwise is what makes it transphobic.

Underrepresented minorities disproportionately join minority-centric social groups, that isn’t surprising.
I know I believe everything I read online. Because if I didn’t, that would make me a bigot. Good and reasonable, totally non moronic talk. Thanks!
But you must have some way of discerning truth on the internet one way or the other, otherwise nothing could ever be true
