Could we rebuild a local/(town) internet, out of routers, lan cables, and some old computers acting as servers, from a collection of depencencies (e.g. some linux server distribution, core packages and dependencies).
I imagine a scenario, where an 'apt install “package”, won’t be possible, due to various servers being down. But still wanting to provide town-wide access to e.g. a datahoarders wikipedia download. Maybe one could call it a community internet prepper package of some sort.
There must have been someone doing this, I just can’t seem to find it. So maybe you know? or know of some limitations that would make it impossible?
Thanks for joining me on this thought experiment.
