If you didn’t enjoy this strawman, you just didn’t consume enough of them.

Luckily, there’s plenty more on thebad.website.

Meanwhile I know someone who watched the entirety of a very popular series (can’t remember which one at the moment) just so he could tell the obnoxious fans of it, that it was shit, and exactly why it was shit.

Me with Breaking Bad. Just to get ahead of the insufferable BB fans, it’s not a bad show, it’s just no Wire or Sopranos. Better Call Saul, though? Oh baby, now we’re talking.

I liked BB, I thought it was pretty good, and BCS I still have yet to finish (got up to season 3 and then got distracted), and thought it was also pretty good.

What did you find lackluster in BB that BCS did better?

All of this is imo, but. My biggest issue with BB is that most of the characters lack any meaningful depth; they feel like caricatures rather than real people. The writers didn’t have a long term plan for BB, and I feel like it shows in a lot of the storylines. I don’t think Walt’s character was consistent at all, which bugs me because he’s the focal point of the story.

All of these things I think BCS addressed and improved on. And again, I don’t even really dislike BB, I just think it feels like an off-brand sopranos. BCS, on the other hand, is the genuine article. I honestly think it’s one of the best shows that’s ever aired on regular cable. But I’m just some random dickhead on the internet, so who cares what I think lol.
