              It’s a fair point and I said here that if you were looking to host off-site you could use imgbox or catbox (Catbox permanently hosts files of up to 200MB) or perhaps Redgifs might be easier for your workflow because I think it will encode/ compress it for you automagically. The advantage of using one of these hosts is you can post the vide link here in the url box on the create post form and it will open on this site which means you’re not taking lemmy users off-site because we’re all trying to grow a garden here.

            Speaking only for myself, a lot of the videos posted directly on site don’t work for me. Something about they aren’t encoded right for iPhone. I do wish it was more seamless.

              I know that sometimes people have problems with accessing catbox due to issues with certain areas and ISPs and also DNS servers either blocking or being blocked. The MIME type problem that sometimes arises I don’t quite know what that’s about, maybe the issues will disappear when the site is upgraded to the latest Lemmy release tomorrow.

              All of my posts are hosted elsewhere to try to reduce lemmynsfw.com’s server overheads but the content should open natively on the site, so for instance OP could host their content on catbox or imgbox, still have control of their content and users could see it here without clicking through to another site which helps lemmynsfw with engagement.

        If that’s true, worst case scenario a bunch of people enjoyed themselves for free for a few days and I admire the hustle. It’s not like anyone is entitled to anything from her. There isn’t even an algorithm here to chase or followers to accumulate.

        Compared to, say, that little brunette who is posting a lot lately on different boards who is cute af but doesn’t seem to otherwise engage, this is more fun. Yeah, she’s jerking people’s leashes and I get having a reaction to that, but everyone seems to be having a good time.

        I had to examine my own initial reaction, but ultimately I decided to just enjoy it.

          Remember, it is her body her rules. She does this because she wants, but she needs also to be safe.

          I assume she removes stuff to reduce chance of someone outing her.

          Don’t give her shit for trying to stay safe, just appreciate her content and don’t presume you get to keep any of her content. She doesn’t owe us anything and has full rights to remove anything at any time.
