    Christopher Paolini, the author of Eragon, mentioned that he based the personality of the dragon in his book off of his cat. Makes sense.

      I guess he had to steal it from somewhere. Nothing else in that series was original.

        Even Tolkien wasn’t original. His mythos is the polyamorous lovechild of Suomi, Germanic, Celtic, and Christian mythology.

        And everyone bases characters on people they know.

          Yep that’s how inspiration works, honestly it’s not really worth giving credit to the “inspiration is stealing” arguments as all of them are bad faith.
