It’s not because we’ve tried to do anything horrible, but I think we need to be cognizant of what it might mean for other opportunities. And when I say opportunities, I literally mean sleep and eating and moving around the room and looking at somebody in the eyes.

There used to be kindle-books by “The Rogue Hypnotist”…

    I don’t know if there still are…

    There. That book.

I’ve learned, since reading his stuff, that some books are heavy-handed with hypnotic-trance-induction technique ( “Ten Types of Human” by 1 author, & the books by “John Braddock” on thinking, risk, & strategy, as other examples )…

    Keeping a population-of-consumers deep in hypnotic-trance means their independent-will won’t/can’t interfere with institutional bleeding-of-their-lives…

That’s really all it comes down to.

Also, beating a population into learned-helplessness means they’ll just accept all the escalations that one heaps on them, endlessly…

Those 2 principles underlie most of the strategy of our new media “reality”, nowadays.

    Sad, but testably true.
