The process is: I do thumbnails to warm up and to explore different ideas without having to commit too much time. When I’ve found an idea I like, I try sketching different compositions and variations while keeping a couple rules/guidelines in mind, like: each character’s immediate and long-term desires, and “three levels deep,” which helps to encourage triangle compositions, as well as have other things in frame for the focal character to relate and react to. (Like how in this drawing there’s the main guy, and he relates/reacts to: his broken sword, the sword in his back, the unconscious/dead guy slumped against the wall, the severed arm, as well as the danger off-screen)
Then I just sketch things out in pencil, and then ink. :)
Quality. What’s the process? Do you pencil first?
I do pencil first!

I’m writing this all down, I want to try this approach over the weekend when I have free time! Thanks!
No problem, and I hope it’s helpful! :)
It’s more than helpful, it’s reminding me that these skills are mere skills, and I could still grasp them if I put in the energy. Truly, thank you.
Yeah! That’s the best attitude :) My pleasure!
