    Thats only true if you have kids. There are no federal requirements for how you store your guns when not in use. If you dont have kids or strangers around, you can keep things like pistols on wall racks, loaded and ready to go. I for example, live way out in the sticks. If I call the cops, it takes a minimum of 20 minutes before anyone gets here. My nearest neighbors are also a couple miles away. So, if someone breaks in I have a 20 minute window with zero help. Call 911, then call .357

      Fair point. But even in the city, cops are just there to document your losses after the fact. Unless you end up in a hostage situation, they’re not doing anything during the crime.
