This is why I’ve been so interested in local LLMs. This was always inevitable, and they know all the patterns and tricks to manipulate us… Going to be truly dystopian.

I love this idea. Libraries should provide free hosting for people in the community.

I have always assumed that everything that I type into an LLM is guaranteed to be completely insecure, and entirely public. I would never, in a million years, put anything sensitive into an LLM, any account and password is unique.

I mean, I figure whatever I type is going to be used as training data for the next iteration, and I assume anything that goes in, is retrievable to some degree.

I try to keep one or two near collections at all times. Makes me feel like someone cares…

I use Dr. Bronners hemp peppermint for everything. Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, dish soap, dog shampoo, hell, I once washed my car with it.

It’s true. I have had a good number of jobs, I come, work on things, make improvements, then move on when I’ve grown or they are in a better spot. I honestly thought I was the guy coming in to help fix things and then move on once things are stable.

Instead, I have created a series of opportunities for them to blame the last guy to leave.

No matter how good of a job you do, unless you are there to remind folks, they will forget and use the easy scapegoat. I’m still very popular with the folks I worked with on the ground, but management types are primarily after someone else to blame…

There is no such thing as a good billionaire. There are billionaires who might be temporarily aligned with you but make no mistake, none of them will love you back…

I have seen people moved to tears from ai music. To me no matter how good it sounds, I still feel like I’m listening to modem noises. A recent funeral for example, an ai song, written by a thoughtless prompt, filled with bored, tired cliches that could have just as easily been written by a corporate communications department, was the tear filled tribute to my step-mother as she was lowered into the ground.

It was the single most dystopian moment of my life.

The problem is, masculinity has been turned into a performative art these days. To the culture obsessed with masculinity, you have to fall in line, wear the clothes, support the right people…. What they don’t get is that this is the least masculine behavior possible.

Seriously, look at the “masculine” types, they all are groomed, their trucks are all spotless, they go to work and sit in the same chairs as the rest of us; but think their fascist adjacent clothing makes them look tough. I see nothing but insecure manchildren.
