To be fair, I have seen people with ADHD claim, Wearing a butt plug while doing mundane tasks somehow helps. I’m convinced they’re all trolls or in the pocket of big butt plug.

In all the cards I have driven, you go faster than the set speed and the car responds to your pedal movements. I guess we can debate if we call that stopped or just paused, but it is certainly not ignoring your acceleration.

Even if the system does not know people’s protected class status, does not mean it cannot discriminate against them.

Buffalobuffalo@reddthat.comto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are these type of 3-way USB-C cables safe?27·1 year agoHave you thought about 3 cables but running them through a cable sleeve? This way you can get a three port charger and three cables But have them feel like one big cable.
Buffalobuffalo@reddthat.comto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why did the eclipse not darken proportionally?30·1 year agoYour eyes adjust to the available light to a radical degree. If you are in a room with 5 lights bulbs and turn all but one off, it will probably only feel 25%-50% darker.
I was trying to make my bedroom as dark as possible so I could sleep in. I turn off the lights, it felt dark for like 2 seconds until my eyes adjusted. Then there was all this light coming in around my curtains, it felt just as bright as before. So I tapped those to the wall. Man it was nice and dark for a few more seconds then my eyes adjusted and there was all this light coming in from under the doors. So I put a towel in front of that. Then it was dark, but I could still see a little because it turns out my curtain tapping was not great AND there was light coming in around the doors. My point being, if you are young and healthy your eyes can be really good at adjusting to low light conditions without you even noticing.

A Wyze security failure is not putting my at risk of being robbed. There are easier ways to tell when people go on vacation. Your plan is to get illicit access to someone’s camera, hope they live near by, check up on them daily, wait for them to be gone for a couple days, assume that means they will be gone for a while longer, then rob them?
Most people post vacations on social media, why bother hacking and stalking them. Just find people who post about their international vacations on FB. Easier to do and you get much better information about how long they will be gone.

It would be a hell of a lot easier to just wait until you don’t see cars in my driveway, or watch my house until you see me leave.
Buffalobuffalo@reddthat.comto Technology@lemmy.world•Wyze says camera breach let 13,000 customers briefly see into other people’s homesEnglish3·2 years agoI have one to watch my dogs when I am away. It was cheap and I only plug it in occasionally when I am gone for a while. Probably about 3 hours a week. I figure if it is mostly off it will be hard to be exposed, and even if so, all you will see are my dogs in their crates.
Buffalobuffalo@reddthat.comto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How would you go about making a rubber dog toy?61·2 years agoIf you have an undamaged ball, I would use that to create a plaster mold, then use that to create a new ball. This would give you the exact shape. It will not help with finding the right rubber though.

I could play around with it, but my laptop is in the other room.
Buffalobuffalo@reddthat.comto Technology@lemmy.world•Firefox now supports clean URLs with the new "Copy link without site tracking" optionEnglish392·2 years agoEdit, looks like Firefox is smarter than me, ignore this.
I don’t know what the link was doing, but just because FF thought it was “tracking info” does not mean it was nefarious. It could be used for authentication or security. I have not tested it, but I presume this would break a “reset your password” email link.
Buffalobuffalo@reddthat.comto Confidently Incorrect@lemmy.world•The American civil war wasn’t about slavery.1·2 years agoThere was an article I read a wile back so I may be misremembering. It claimed they the wealth of southern plantations was the slaves, the land and other assets were worth hardly anything. Many of these places had large amounts of debt tied to the value of their slaves. The fear was not just that the north would make slavery illegal, but that the actions being taken to limit slavery in new states would cause the price of slaves to drop and make all the rich slave owners broke.
The definition may have changed but I feel like originally it was only vibe coding when the “dev” did not know what they are doing. When some one with little to no programming background is able to build and app on “vibes” alone.
