We are right next door and Canada has had less murders in 25 years than America has in one.

You all hate each other so much you have zero empathy and hair trigger tempers. Add a plethora of guns to the mix and you have a powder keg that never stops going off.

You have a constant stream of media telling you to be angry all the time, I get it, we get a lot of that crap crossing the border and being online with Americans makes me fucking angry but you have to just walk away from the constant noise. I know because I have to do the same. The internet isn’t an escape anymore, it’s a war zone and I’m so tired of fighting.

Two of my best friends growing up were Scottish and their parents spoke with super thick Scottish accents. Made understanding Trainspotting and reading Irvine Welsh so much easier.

Some of my fondest memories were in my early 20s, their dad would make me a drink and after a few my Irish/English ass would start talking with a Scottish accent. They’d all get a huge kick out of it. To this day even though I grew up with a dad with a heavy Irish accent I still can’t do a proper accent unless I’ve had a few, then I can’t stop it. 😅

No, they really aren’t. You can’t go onto any page run by or made for a minority group without constant nazi level hate and yet Facebook does nothing. If however you defend yourself you get banned for bullying. They enjoy causing harm to vulnerable communities because they like to make money and don’t care who gets hurt as long as ad revenue keeps rolling in.

They specifically have hate speech as a reportable offence and do absolutely zero about all forms of hate speech. I’ve reported people calling others f××××× and they’ve done nothing. I don’t even think they believe n××××× is offensive.

I fucking hate all meta platforms now. I’ve been on Facebook since the day it went public (allowing anyone to join instead of just college students) and it’s just a nazi recruitment platform now. There is not accountability for bad behaviour, in fact they reward trolls and punish people for dairing to defend themselves.

If I’m harrassed it doesn’t go against community standards but if I defend myself I get banned for 30 days for bullying.

It’s fucked up and it’s deliberate. I’ve actually gotten a ban for two emojis 🐓🍭 got me a ban but bigotry and hate speech are a ok. Ironically even Jewish people aren’t safe on meta platforms. Antisemitic behaviour is rampant, even way before the Gaza war so its not people who give a shit about Palestine.

The last time they mentioned his age it was 38/39. They keep changing it but keeping him and Marge in their 30s.

Honestly I wish they would age everyone up a year every decade. If they had done that we would be seeing the antics of a 13 year old Bart now and I think that could start with some really interesting character development instead of keeping him forever a 10 year old.

When I first moved out on my own in the mid 90s I was paying $525/month + utilities for a 3 bedroom semi detached house.

As an almost 50 year old gen x who is on disability I will never bad mouth the younger generations for having a hard time financially. I am right there with you. I’ll never own my own home, the only reason I can afford my rent is because I’ve been in the same apartment for 10 years. I’m paying less for a 2 bedroom apartment than it costs to rent a single room these days. I’m going to have to live here until I die because I’ll never be able to afford to move.

Groceries have skyrocketed just since covid and they weren’t cheap to begin with either. Even before covid I was paying more for a week’s worth of groceries than I was for a months worth of groceries in the 90s.

Times aren’t just tough, they’re fucking impossible.

If you want your mind blown when Simpsons started Marge and Homer were boomers, then Gen X and now they’re millennials. Bart, Lisa and Maggie started out as Gen X (underachiever and proud of it) then millennials, then gen z, and now they’re Gen alpha.

But grampa is always a ww2 vet.

Fun fact. I was 2 years older than Bart when the Simpsons started on the Tracy Ulman show and now I’m over a decade older than Marge and Homer.
