So they can pay a relative pittance to keep chugging along uninterrupted, and pass the cost on to the consumer.
Yeah, that’ll fix things…

I love Rosie and Babatunde too. I also like Jack, but could have sworn he has already been on (back in the Dave days)… Don’t know enough about the other two.
Last couple of series I’ve been finding myself uninterested most episodes, Julian Clary and Susan Wokoma salvaged a few episodes on their series, and the one before that was quite good (love Mae Martin and Frankie Boyle, and Jenny Eclair, Ivo Graham and Kiell Smith-Bynoe were all good too), but the show really has been in a slump, I’m hoping this series will liven it back up a bit…
Letting the rich know people can get right up to them and mess with their shit is a good thig. Next time perhaps make it a cocktail party (just make sure no crew are around)…
My best guess would be because the chocolate cookies don’t contain any chocolate, but rather just cocoa powder.
Might be the photo, but it looks to me like top is vanilla cookie with choc-chip, while bottom is chocolate cookie with choc-chip, making it “double” chocolate.
Definitely could be clearer, but I don’t think they’re making the claim you think they are.
Such a fabulous lil floof! 😁
Beats me, people saying “if you’re tired enough you can sleep anywhere”, making me laugh my exhausted ass off (and feel jealous af, but can’t really hold it against them).
I’ve spent more nights than I can count laid in bed for hours, absolutely shattered, wanting nothing but sleep, and none has come. Then when I do finally fall asleep, it isn’t for long or of any decent quality (as in EtraordinaryJoe’s case - chronic pain will do that to you), so I’m still always tired, and yet still unable to just fall asleep.
My trick to getting to sleep at night is weed and a meal, to help induce food coma, which again, isn’t quality sleep, but it’s better than nothing…
Advertising is 95% lies. Companies not lying is the tool to better choices.

So you’re annoyed that someone (who took the time to go to a charity shop, list the book online, and ship it to you) charged you the RRP for the book, that you didn’t have to buy from them?
I hope you have the same kind of energy for when mega-corporations charge anything from tens to thousands of pounds for products that often cost single pounds or even pennies to manufacture (due to underpaying for labour and materials that were in turn manufactured by underpaid labour as well), and the snowballing impact they have on the rest of the economy (by pricing out smaller companies, monopolising industries, avoiding tax, and so on).
The person you bought this from likely works for themsleves, trolling charity shops all day for bargains, and almost certainly pays tax on their income. I’m as anti-capitalist as they get, but even I can’t take issue with this. If they had charged you more than the RRP, sure, that’d pushing it, but if you didn’t want to pay full price, you should have spent your own time looking for the bargain. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Unfortunately this affects many more than just zoomer, fucking depressing either way…
Lol, imagine having to take digs at a literal teenaged doctor because their success makes you feel that insecure in yourself…
And you really couldn’t say that without being an ableist shit?
Just finished watching Praying for Armaggedon and my mind went straight back to my comment here about the crusades never ending. I know they probably won’t, but all the people here who see no issue with OP really need to watch this film. Everyone does.
It’s funny in a sad sort of way that anyone is still expecting governments to step in and do something, when they already are doing something - letting you know that cutting costs will always be a higher priority than cutting carbon (or other pollutants, or human rights violations). They don’t see the tax pot as ours, they see it as theirs, to spend and speculate with as they see fit. What do they care, when it all comes crashing down they have their own golden cushions to fall back on while the rest of society (and life on earth as we know it) crashes and burns.
Honestly, that’s shockingly low, depressingly even.
As long as people, of all ages, continue to have any faith in the status quo (or in the possibility that “reforming” or regulating it is all we need), even though it is clear (once you look) that they should have none, they will not revolt, or even support a revolt, against it.
I hate to think how much worse things are going to have to get before enough people realise the system was never there to serve them, even if it makes them feel it does sometimes (because they’re a man and/or white and/or abled and/or cis and/or hetero and so on…).
So I’m the only one who read it as Friiiiiiends? 😂
I am sooooo fucking sick and tired of people touting out that tired cliché to defend capitalists…
I think instead we should start saying “don’t let the manipulation by their benefactors stand in the way of the reality of the systems they maintain”.
I doubt anyone is expecting perfection at this point, I know I’m not (it being a literal impossibility and all), but them pretending to be “good” and you buying it, doesn’t actually make it any good at all (as I said - it’s just giving them the space to continue as they are for a fee that they will never pay, their trapped customers will).
Defending this bullshit as the good we should be happy to compromise for serves no one but the people running the oil companies (and the politicians they pay to ensure such legislation has no legs).
You are playing their game, and supporting their team, bathing in the placation of their greenwashing and letting them get away with it. That is what’s in the way of good.
