Translation to freedom unit? Asking for a friend.

What I get from this is that the most populous country in the world has essentially unliveable temperatures. And this is only the early parts of global warming. Scary times ahead.
CO2 generally is released in cycles. Wood rots, new forests grow etc. The biggest issue is that we went from slow cycles such as carbon is stored in fossil fuels that VERY slowly release CO2 through natural processes, to extremely rapid release of CO2.
I think it’s actually a very interesting question. Pi does not equal 5 in our universe, but perhaps we can think of a meaningful universe where it does? Perhaps some mathematicians/physicists can chime in?
Actually bike lanes work best if 1. They are completely separate from the road or 2. The road feels narrow so cars naturally slow down. So go right ahead and spray paint bike lanes on the edges of narrow roads. I am sure that on 99 percent of US roads in town/city centers it will improve safety for cyclists, drivers and pedestrians.
Wtf? Did Iraq/Afghanistan ask you to invade??? When was the last time the US did a military intervention to help somebody else?
Tbc if Russia pushes its troops west into Poland:Baltic’s/Finland (as it plans to), we will be in WW 3 whether we want to or not. My preferred outcome is for the Russian aggression to be punished quickly before this happens by restoring 2014 borders in Ukraine. If (the threat of) Western intervention can help achieve this I am all for it.
These are not the guys they’ll send out in a war. Unlike Russia, Western nations don’t need cannon fodder.
Israel falling would be a terrible outcome likely resulting in a mass genocide (the other way). The desirable outcome is for Israel to move out of Gaza and the occupied areas. That would also likely strengthen Israel both because it will strengthen their international reputation, and because it moves their troops out of danger.
Fully agree that Europe should be able to defend itself. Fact is we’re not, and politicians are unwilling to invest in it (or directly corrupted by Putin), so here we are, defenceless except for the US and (bizarrely) Ukraine. I am very happy that generals are speaking out on this issue.
If the orange guy wins, he will likely pull troops from Eastern Europe. At that point we (Europeans) can no longer count on NATO support. The nuclear arsenal of France/UK is not sufficiently large, and most European countries spend too little on conventional weaponry. This is potentially happening in 11 months.
There is no exaggeration in stating that Ukraine is fighting for our freedom.
I guess it all depends on your definition. If you take only one gram of sugar per day, you probably have a very weird diet (keto?). Even a slice of bread will get you above that. On the other hand, a gram of cocaine per day…
Grid scale batteries for solar day/night cycles can work. There is no good solution for seasonal fluctuations. Of course, a very large part of Earth’s population lives in close proximity to the equator with far less seasonal influences. It’s just unfortunate that those that pollute most (per capita) do not.
Latest figures are that green hydrogen accounts for 0.04 percent of total hydrogen production.
There is no large well of ammonia that we can use for fuel. Transforming green electricity into a liquid fuel, whether hydrogen, ammonia or something else invariably results in large efficiency losses compared to battery technology.
Balancing the budget implies funding the IRS. Very few government investments have a higher return than tax audits.
This is just such a false narrative. The issue is not a lack of funds to help our own citizens and refugees. The issue is that those funds are concentrated among very few very wealthy people. Those wealthy people would very much like us to blame the refugees.
