  • if they can’t do what the board needs… They aren’t a good fit either

But does the board need it, or just want it to maximize profits, like boards usually do in their typical chase of infinite growth that isn’t sustainable?

And if the person won’t stick up for what they think is best for the company and the people (which they’ve deemed firing 50 people is that), maybe they’re not a good fit that way. But hey, they are sticking up for said company and 50 people, so maybe they are.

  • Yeah billy should be build IUDs not 3d printed guns

I see the /s but…The Ukraine war videos don’t show how to build IEDs, though. And even if they did, who would the parents sue? Ukraine, a nation at war? As opposed to 3D printed guns show you how to make them, and you could try to sue the gun company who it belongs to. And YouTube in both cases.

we didn’t do a good job transitioning from religious to secular values in that way.

A lot of religions were founded on and/or expanded by violence (Pilgrims to America, Knights Templar, Spanish Inquisition, etc), so I don’t remotely think “religious to secular” is the reason.

  • Unless they qualify because they refuse to work…No, not wanting a job is very understandable.

Yes, it is understandable. Not many people actually want a job. As long as they don’t act on that and are actively working (or trying to work), regardless of if they want a job or not, and don’t expect a handout from those who do work, simply because they understandably don’t want a job. Otherwise, that’s called being a leech and a drain on society and those who do work.

Edit: or do you think everyone should quit their job they don’t want and get free handouts? How do you expect society to function if no one works, because no one wants a job? For that matter, who’s going to give you that handout if the person filing and validating it quits as well? Hmm…

  • The fuck would I want to actively give all that data to Google for?

Heard of GrapheneOS on the Pixel line? “GrapheneOS is a privacy and security focused mobile OS with Android app compatibility developed as a non-profit open source project.” https://grapheneos.org/

fairly old Samsung tablets to use at work, and they’re absolute shit to set up when compared to an iPad. There’s all the stock Google apps, and all the stock Samsung apps that offer the same fucking features, and they keep bugging you to set them up.

Samsung is not the best manufacturer, plus you said old. Either one is bad, but that’s a terrible combo. And all the Google apps and OEM bloatware is fixed (gone) with a deGoogled OS like Graphene’s.

  • I just checked Lineage OS and it looks like Google Play Services doesn’t let you disable sensors permission. Can you do it on Graphene OS?

Yep, there’s a toggle to disable by default globally. I also individually checked Google Play Services, Google Play Store and Google Services Framework, and all three can be denied the Sensors permission.

This is due to Sandboxed Google Play: “GrapheneOS has a compatibility layer providing the option to install and use the official releases of Google Play in the standard app sandbox. Google Play receives absolutely no special access or privileges on GrapheneOS as opposed to bypassing the app sandbox and receiving a massive amount of highly privileged access. Instead, the compatibility layer teaches it how to work within the full app sandbox.”
