I’ll never buy another Samsung TV. I bought a top of the line LCD/LED TV in late 2020 and it had so many weird issues:
It had frame rate issues with some streaming devices. It was widely reported as an issue in the Samsung forums, but it was never fixed.
The interface wasn’t user friendly, taking many many more button presses to switch Inputs than any other TV I’ve had.
The grid of LEDs that were supposed to turn on and off to help make dark spots darker ended up being distracting, you could clearly see when one or two of the LEDs turned on, causing an area to get highlighted by comparison.
Nope, never again, I bought an nice LG OLED and it’s great, build quality, UI, responsiveness, picture quality.
I hadn’t considered the possibility of an AI trained to be a scientist until two weeks ago when a Kurzgesagt video brought it up. Funny to see that being worked on.
As someone who tried to buy a house 2020 and gave up due to inflated prices, and waaaay above asking prices, this change sounds like a bad thing for a first time buyer. So not only do I need to produce 50-65k down payment, closing costs, now I need to worry about footing 6% of the home value to split between the selling/buy agents? I’ve read a few articles about this, and I don’t see any way this is a good thing for anyone but the sellers. If I’m misunderstanding something about this change, hopefully some one here and help me understand.
We didn’t catch the fact that the rubble covered stove in the cafeteria early on works. So we never found a way to cook food, eventually we found another oven, but it was broken and we had no idea where to get the parts to repair it. We went back to the beginning to cook food, but the logistics of trying to haul things with our limited inventories back and forth to get food and also explore became unfun so we quit.
My friend and I tried to get into Abiotic Factor, I love the setting, I love the premise, but we had a very difficult time getting a foot hold where we were just dying of starvation over and over. I need to circle back and try the game again, the same thing happened with Subnautica, took a few tries to get enough momentum to get established and have fun exploring.
Well that’s bizarre, I had wishlisted Kingmakers to keep track of it, but it felt like a ambitious game by an indie dev. To have it suddenly flagged for a live action film adaptation feels out of the blue.
Not to say that the premise wouldn’t fun in a movie, because it most definitely would be.

When a moral panic happens, a lot of things get blown out of proportion. A good example was the panic relating to D&D and satanism. There was a huge panic sometime in the 50s or 60s about the police dealing with young thugs with concealed switch blades, which could be hidden, and then deployed one handed so fast a cop couldn’t draw his weapon fast enough. So this panic got a lot of laws drawn up to ban any switch blade.
Since then, the there are knives that skirt the law by not having a spring which force the blade open, instead a tension bar. There are still types are illegal to carry if a Cop would find out you have it, like “Out the front” switch knives.
The stupid part is, there are plenty of “one hand deployable” knives on the market that are 100% legal. But the laws never get revisited. In my state it’s illegal to have a out the front switch blade, yet a bunch of high end OTF knives are for sale at a sporting store. They just post a sign that says “Know your local laws”, which some how makes it okay to sell.

I think you’re right. Much of the text has that “word adjacent” you see a lot in AI images. Also, the picture appears to be very 80s in style, but that taco bell logo wasn’t used in the 80s. I’m pretty sure the logo and Honda were edited in.

This year my rent up 20%, which is crazy. My state has no laws in place to protect renters, so when I called the apartment management company to ask if it were a mistake, they said it wasn’t, and when I asked if they could tell me it wouldn’t get raided another 20% next year, I was told they couldn’t guarantee it.
