It’s all about getting the consistency right
It’s all about getting the consistency right
Even in petrol cars automatic transmissions are more common than manual for new cars now. Automatic has just become better and better, and there’s just very little reason to have a manual these days.
I was curious and looked on the tazo website.
For Tazo Awake English breakfast tea the label says “based on tea brewed with freshly boiled water for 5 minutes (no milk, no sugar), an 8 fl oz cup typically contains insignificant amounts of calories, fats, carbohydrates, sugars, protein and sodium”.
Seems weird for yours to have such a significant difference even if its a slightly different type, could you post an image?
Surely you understand why people would judge that decision as dickish then right? You understand that if everyone had the same mentality it’d be chaos? That it’s basically a “well, I got mine!” attitude?
Any of these things? X
No? I didn’t think so. Ah well.
If you live off the grid and support yourself completely then more power to you. Doesn’t sound like that’s the case though and you can’t simply decide to not pay tax because you disagree with SOME decisions the government makes. I’m not even from the US but I don’t like many decisions my government makes. I still pay tax though because it’s going to plenty of things I use and letting others pay my share is dickish behaviour. Me not agreeing with the military strategy or distribution of funds to healthcare is a separate issue and if you want to campaign to change that (or similar) that’s exactly what you should do (and again, more power to you).
Only fools and children will change their actions based on what losers on the internet may think of them.
I agree. I don’t expect to change your behaviour, just felt like pointing out the shitty behaviour of letting others pay for the stuff you use when you should be paying for it too.
I know a small amount about you, that small amount consists of shitty behaviour. That’s about it :) x
Probably nothing at all, potentially going to jail if you are caught evading tax, but that’s a few steps away I’m sure.
Just the knowledge that you’re taking from society without giving to society. If you hate your government so much that you’re prepared to commit tax fraud then I assume that you’ve done everything possible to leave, right? Which countries have you tried emigrating to out of interest?
You just stink of entitlement, that’s all :) x
What a scummy thing to do, most call it fraud.
I assume in that time you won’t be using roads or any public infrastructure then?
So you’re either a child, are supported by somebody else, or committing fraud.
Whatever the answer is, I doubt many will care about your opinion.
But certain words DO have power, even if it’s just power attributed by others it’s still power, and it’s really naive to think they don’t.
Summoning Salt.
Not many people can make a 2 hr video about the world record progression of a game I’ve never heard of and have me absolutely invested in it all the way through.
Dude makes a video every 3-6months but god I love them. If anything they’ve improved over the years as his style has been refined and the videos got longer.
Yeah and that’s the exact outlook that I think is dumb. It might be true if they were trying to make the world aware of some very serious but largely unknown issue, but that’s not what’s happening here at all.
Nobody learns anything, FEWER people will sympathise with you, and you disrupt people’s lives for exactly fuck all.
Ironically, people on your side seem to specifically NOT know how protests work. Pissing off the masses does not bring people to your cause.
I’m also sympathetic to the cause and do a lot to improve my carbon footprint, but I’m the bad guy here because I believe that simply pissing off others will not reduce the worlds reliance on oil.
What has actually been achieved with these protests? Do people exist who didn’t know oil was bad until they saw someone holding up traffic or chaining themselves to a football goal? It seems like disruption for disruptions sake to me.
Is it possible there’s something between those two options that could work more effectively and piss fewer people off…?
I’m amazed at how few people realise this. I don’t agree with jailing this guy but people seem to think that as long as a protest gets noticed by people it MUST be effective.
Arguing with anger makes people who are already on your side agree with you, arguing with calm and logic might actually change a few minds though.
Just Stop Oil are the former and appears to me to be doing nothing to help the effort, do they think that people believe oil is good for the planet and that they’re actually making others aware of the environmental impact? Nobody is learning anything but plenty of people are getting pissed off with the cause because it’s unnecessarily disruptive and furthers nothing.
Edit: you guys proved the point phenomenally. There’s the people already on their side agreeing, meanwhile at least 2 commenters who are anti oil are painted like we coat penguins in it for fun in our free time. Why do so many suggest it’s either JSO or ineffective sanctioned protests? Could there not be something in between? What would be so wrong with protesting directly to MPs by the houses of Parliament? You could chain yourself to whatever if you need to make a strong point, throw oil/paint/whatever at 10 downing street, do something that the decision makers will actually notice and have people talking about you favourably. Most conversations about JSO are one side saying they’re fucking morons, and the other side naively echoing this chamber like that has any chance at changing anyone’s mind.
Ah well, lemmy seems even less flexible than reddit did with its views, so I shouldn’t be surprised. There is no room for nuance here.
What does leigh pronounced lay mean…?
Potentially acquired the company I bought the first socks from at some point then. I found the exact socks I’d bought years later and ordered more pairs, might just be idemtical patterns and still good quality but the first set I had were definitely at university, which I graduated in 2012.
It’s ueither but specifically ueither with horizontal patterns, any intricate designs don’t last as long.
I bought a pack of 5 while at uni in 2011 and they’re still going strong today, I have 10 others since then which are as good, but the one time I bought picture designs rather than straightforward stripes they lasted maybe 3-4 years, which still isn’t horrible tbf.
There’s nothing particularly special about them, they’re 80% cotton, 17% polyester, 3% elastane. They just seem to last forever and feel great.
Socks, fucking shit loads of socks, I had 42 pairs arrive the other day. I have a weird thing for socks (no not like that) and have bought everyone a pack of my favourite socks that don’t seem to ever die (I have a 12year old pack that are still in great condition despite wearing them regularly).
Everyone gets a 5pack of my favourite, 1 pair of merino wool socks, and a box of sweets or chocolate depending on their taste.
Except for the children, they get toys and games too.
It’s clichéd as fuck, but made my life easier and we all prefer focusing on the kids as it’s their day really.
You can’t conflate one thing, by definition it requires more than one. That’s enbarrassing.
