Arch user btw.
I use Jerboa. It has the account switch feature (though never tested) and I never had the issue of communities loading for minutes. It’s also FOSS but idk if it has mod controls. The only bug I noticed is that there are scrolling delays when scrolling my profile? Maybe it was in a different place. I don’t remember. But there’s no such issue on the feed, posts and comments. Other than that the client is quite stable (I use the stable release, not the beta). Oh and btw this post is a little sus
Idk. That’d be weird
Can be a bit too much
cough cough mass surveillance cough censorship cough cough. Though there are advantages too
I think mine is kinda obvious but in case it isn’t, it’s “GNU” in the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet. I got it because I like aviation and Linux… and also because I’m too autistic to get a more normal one
It’s way too early to tell
Wearable tech and VR do make some sense. NFT is not eco-friendly cuz based on blockchain. 3D? Idk it’s just for fun I guess. But at least it’s not consuming the power of a small country to run the servers
I personally hope that all of this AI stuff will become a flop and disappear soon. It’s unreliable, not eco-friendly and dangerous for privacy
What if there’s a gas explosion or another case that causes loss of connection between the system and the doors? Is it possible to open them manually in such cases?
I would genuinely like to learn about how you deal with stuff like malfunctions and backup door unlock methods. But now I don’t really want to discuss much because of health issues. Hopefully you all won’t consider me a bad person who likes to argue
Hmm facial recognition? A little bit unreliable of a technology I’d say. But other than that, it seems really convenient. I just prefer doing everything manually. Probably I need to delete that question. I just wanted to know people’s reasons to use smart home because I didn’t believe many of them find it useful
Well that’s an expected answer. Many people seem to like such stuff and find it convenient. I just don’t. Probably I’m too old to understand it lol. Though I have nothing against smart home devices that are not connected to the cloud. Just don’t fully rely on them for core stuff such as doors, fire alarms and oxygen/medication (in case you need that). You do want to be able to open the doors with a physical key in case of a power outage or a simple system malfunction
That’s a very good point but could you also tell me why do you need a smart home? I don’t understand the point of it
This is why you don’t use any smart home devices, kids
Installed a flatpak app (can’t remember which one but it wasn’t obscure or shady) and smh it broke the file system on one of my main machines :) (at least I think that’s what happened because the machine started lagging, any app refused to launch and after a reboot I got an fsck error or something like that)
Wow that is an engine and a half. I’m wondering how it handles the torque load though
