The Markup has done some of the best reporting outside 404Media on data brokers, and that work was instrumental in getting the California Delete Act passed last year that will let you one click delete your information from every registered data broker in a few years when it gets implemented. CalMatters is a good org but I hope The Markup gets to keep doing what they’re doing.
