I don’t understand where you’re getting hung up on the talking to each other part. It’s not some conspiracy? I was describing the app in its form.

Short video sometimes long video, frustrated person talking about how insane it is to experience the shit we are experiencing here in the states, I agree with frustrated person, I go to comments, I see a great many others who recount their shit experiences, don’t take them all at face value because that would be stupid, but realize that I am not alone in wanting shit to go back to reality. I have watched them both, and I can’t remember Ponyo very well, Mononoke was awesome with some slight weird pacing from my memory of it.

They were both pleasurable to watch!

The ones I can think of where I questioned the pacing is Earwig, Pocco Rocco, the other airplane one, the small people one, and there are a few others I may be forgetting.

Call me Original™️, but the pacing of Spirited Away was fantastic!

As for stories, the only story I have actively disliked is the earwig one. To me, that movie made absolutely no sense.

As I have stated above, all that I’ve ever been shown is some funny videos sure, but MOSTLY average people like myself who are constantly fucked by those above us all and voice their opinions, freely, on the app. I finally have an app where people aren’t posting pictures of their selves trying to pretend they’re happy. I finally have an app where I can hear others who think about the systemic injustices constantly bombarding us in this digital era.

It’s quite funny you say they got this one right, but they also allow censoring of our “news” stations here, and the content that is on american social medias. you do see that, right? So, it’s okay in your eyes, for a foreign app to be banned, but no restrictions for the apps that american companies deploy that also have a narrative to push? you don’t think this could’ve been a SWEEPING bill that includes ALL social medias? Why just this one? It has been proven that Russia and Chinese bot farms are swamping Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Why is this not something they care about? Truly, I want to hear this from you.

I had such high hopes for it, but with the embarrassment of ID.me I just went back to FreetaxUSA.

I have had a few UI issues too, but it was quickly squared away after a day or two. I mainly use it as my general purpose browser, like quick look ups, and for reading articles. Firefox is always for serious browsing where I need to login a lot, YouTube, and local device handling.

I understand from being here at Lemmy since the Great Migration, that the way I utilize the internet and my browser is very different, so I tend to overlook a lot of things that many others seem to focus more on.

I am sorry you experienced it badly the first time, maybe you can always try again sometime when it feels or looks more stable to you! 😁

EDIT: Also, there is a very easy way to get the recommend Betterfox user.js! You go into the settings page, and in the search bar, type in user or user.js and you’ll see the options for which user.js you’d prefer to use! I changed mine from the Floorp default to Yokoffing Default. I hope that adds to the niceness for some of you!

For my use case, it was just to use other Gecko browsers just to help show interest in them so that we can have a healthy amount of browsers on the Gecko side too, just as Chromium has plenty of its own derivatives!

Besides that, it comes with plenty of customization, including what a lot of people like about Vivaldi that is a side bar that can be used to install web apps for quick and convenient use while staying on the same page you were already looking at.

For example, I’ve set my side bar up to include Google translate (default I think) and Wiktionary, because I sometimes come across a word I didn’t know before and want to know what it means.

In the top left, if you right click the icon (I don’t recall what it looks like right now, as I’m using the CSS theme above) you can also split the tab. Now, I have a 21:9 screen, so if I want to watch a YouTube video and still scroll on a different website, I no longer have to use the Firefox pop out video option unless I want to do something on the desktop and not the browser.

That’s my biggest use cases for it, and why I appreciate it the more I use it.

Hopefully you can find something you like that it does better than Firefox too! 😁
