17 year old Dell here. Threw a SSD and Linux on it and that damn thing boots faster than most brand new Desktops. Absolutely enough to surf the web, listen to music, watch videos or do the usual Linux stuff (ssh, etc.). You can even somewhat game on it via sunshine/moonlight.

yeah, but to be fair, we get a lot of free shit for it.
The EU knows and is working on it https://www.techspot.com/news/101396-european-union-set-revise-cookie-law-admits-cookie.html
thats gross salary. i mean net salary.
I tend to exaggerate, but my actual income is just under €12,000 a year. Adult german but can’t work full time for health reasons. But even with a average income here you would rarely go over 25.000€, which is still a joke in comparison what this guy makes.
a year? i don’t make that much in 10!
i could live a whole long life with what this guy makes in a week.
TIL there are still idiots buying NFTs
Germany has currently a 80 billion euro hole in its budget. It does not even has the money to pay for the existing situation.
I’m not sure if you really can say “burst” already if its only down 10% after it went up 100% since 2010.
i switched to vaping with nicotine. zero problem. did not miss cigs for a second. Then I slowly reduced the nicotine over six months until zero. i’m now smokefree since 2 years after lighting up 30 cigs a day for over 20 years.
Got it for free with my GPU. still feel ripped off. its just so incredible boring.
It’s fucked up to take picture of random people and post them online without consent. In germany that would even get you jailtime.
my second and third knocked me out for 3 full days. I was no longer able to get out of bed. I had severe chills and extreme nausea. I practically puked my guts out for 3 days. i know multiple other people that had very similar reactions.
its a verified seller with over half a million positive reviews and a registered company in germany. so i am quite sure its legit. but yes, the possibility always exists of course.
Refurbished is the word. I got a Ultrastar DC HC520 (12 TB) with zero hours from eBay for 130€. I guess it was originally intended as a replacement but was never used then and just collected dust. So basically brand new hardware. Sometimes you can even catch one that has still manufacturer warranty. One i saw had 5 years left on it.
It goes back to Jerry Nixon, a Microsoft developer that said 2015 on the Microsoft Ignite conference in Chicago
“Right now we’re releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we’re all still working on Windows 10.”
and talking about “Windows as a service” in the future. That started this rumour. And the press went like “MICROSOFT DECLARED!..”. Just that it never did.
What Microsoft later said was
“Recent comments at Ignite about Windows 10 are reflective of the way Windows will be delivered as a service bringing new innovations and updates in an ongoing manner, with continuous value for our consumer and business customers,” … “We aren’t speaking to future branding at this time, but customers can be confident Windows 10 will remain up-to-date and power a variety of devices from PCs to phones to Surface Hub to HoloLens and Xbox. We look forward to a long future of Windows innovations.”
There was never a single word explicit saying that Windows 10 will be the last. Only that the future may be “as a Service”.
Its hard to link a single source for all that, but e.g. Forbes covered it back then: https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/05/08/microsoft-windows-10-last-windows/
aren’t depressions fun?
