Came here to say Brașov. Apart from being really beautiful (I went in summer) I was surprised at how walkable it was. Romania is good in that regard in general but Brașov was seriously fun to walk around.

This is the bill for anyone curious. https://legiscan.com/AZ/text/HB2394/2024
Sure, I guess I included the subway in “trains”. Most of my commute does not really have a view.
It always seems weird seeing most people in busses/trains doing nothing. That’s one of the biggest advantages of having someone else drive you.
Relaxing when in a distance. Super annoying when there’s a lot of them close to you.
I don’t remember the name but there was an energy bar with the flavor a specific juice that got really popular at some point when I was a kid. I think they suddenly discontinued it due to ingredients causing cancer. I had eaten so much of it that it was a bit worrying.
I swear there was a lollipop brand that looked like chupa chups or chupa chups themselves used to have a different flavor because they were the only lollipops I liked but can’t find them anywhere after leaving middle school so I guess they stopped making them.
Next step is for people to also start using it and we’ll experience the beginning of AI generated slang
Uh I’d never thought how useful mask ear loops could be. Congrats, you just added another item to my collection.
Any type of container that closes if it’s in good enough shape (bottles, jars, cardboard boxes, bags). Also small open containers like yogurt or instant soup cups are probably the most useful for holding small items/snacks. When they become too many, you pick the best of each and throw away the rest. I also tend to keep foam packaging even though I’ve never found an actual use for it.
I do see one point specifically for outros and specifically for YouTube. It gives you enough time to click pause before automatically jumping to the next video on the playlist. But that’s more due to YouTube’s stupid behavior than an actual advantage.
I feel this is the way that best reflects how you look at an analog clock. First hours then minutes. It’d be interesting to know if the amount of people saying time the analog way depends on the system used.
But IM gives you the pleasure of “replying” with a dot to a previous message you sent to bring it to their attention :)
Since there is no karma on lemmy it does make sense to downvote when disagreeing because 1. many people will do that anyway without looking at the community, and 2. you don’t actually know how unpopular an opinion is until a bunch of people have voted. And maybe low effort posts can be ignored. I agree it would be nice to have a mention in the rules.
Not exactly a long line but super slow. It was for a university examination where we just answered some questions about a project we did through the semester, so it shouldn’t have taken this long. They didn’t have a good place to host this so we were about 100 people waiting in 2 hallways without any chairs. We were split into groups based on our student id number. There was a general disorganization but our group seemed particularly slow. I think my initial time of examination was 6pm. I went second to last in my group and ended up leaving at 9:15. The university officially closes at 9. There were actually people who had assigned times in the morning and had to wait longer so it turns out I wasn’t that unlucky.
Maybe because you hear your voice every time you speak but rarely in recordings so the difference is more jarring. Most people don’t spend all day looking at a mirror but probably see photos of themselves more often than they hear recordings.
I say that too then never follow it. In my defence it’s usually a beer bottle
I’ve chipped part of my teeth at least twice bringing a bottle to my mouth. At this point I’ve accepted the sides of my front teeth will always look a bit messed up.
Cables are already pretty cheap without being of super questionable quality. I wouldn’t risk my electronics trying out a cable I thought was fake.
I like most songs by Carla’s Dreams (Romanian/Moldovan + Russian). From eurovision, Shum (Ukrainian) and My sister’s crown (English+Ukrainian+Czech+Bulgarian) are pretty good. Slavic languages just sound nice in songs.
Also most pop in catalan (eg. La sortida, escriurem, Ara!).
For something rarer check out Pat Boy who sings in Mayan.
How common are these outages? My ISP provides a SIM with unlimited data for extended outages (like more than a day). This price doesn’t make sense for smaller outages.
