Yup, this is a hitlist, not a “prayer list” or whatever.

In fact, right now they’re more in danger of getting shot by the IDF, considering they keep shooting at marked press and aid workers and vehicles.
NK invading SK would be roundly crushed in an afternoon by the carrier group posted there SPECIFICALLY to prevent that from happening, not to mention SK forces themselves.
Taiwan is in the middle of building up their forces again, we have forces in the region ready and able to assist (posted there, again, specifically to deter Chinese aggression), and we have ally forces across southeast Asia, including Vietnam, New Zealand, and Australia, who are willing and able to come help if needed.
Iran? Seriously? They’re still having trouble keeping a lid on their own populace last I checked. And if they “stir the pot” by aiding Palestine or Yemen…well, Israel has been looking for a good reason to simply wipe Iran from the map for the last several decades.
So apparently, payroll processors will charge you for each TIME you add a new record, rather than each new record added, because they’re the ones actually adding you in. So instead, they send batches of new records to add every two or four weeks.
I’ll just point out that 2000 North Koreans in China killed their managers and occupied a factory for weeks over something similar.
Yup, this is highly illegal, and I’ll bet as soon as they crack open this company’s books, they’ll start finding all sorts of OTHER illegal shit. Companies dumb enough to put this in writing are also dumb enough to not stop at committing one crime at a time.
Before we started legislating car safety, more often, if you got in a crash at speed, you would be either dead or seriously injured. It was not uncommon for a front-end collision to shove the entire steering column into, in some cases THROUGH, people’s ribcages because there was no shock absorption. “Defensive driving” - avoiding a collision at all costs - was taught mostly because of this sort of problem.
I’ll speak to the effectively of modern safety engineering myself - I was involved in two serious accidents within the past two years that, were I in a vehicle without safety features, would’ve left me dead or crippled for life. One, my Jeep spun out on a patch of wet road and got slammed by two other vehicles in a pinball situation - airbags deployed and I was left with some soreness and a thoroughly-wrecked vehicle. The other, my work van got T-boned by a semi truck at speed while crossing an intersection - once again, the airbags deployed, the seatbelt locked me in place, and the fact that the rear of the vehicle was designed to squish in on itself saved me from, at the very least, a severe case of whiplash, and more than likely some severe head injuries.
Yes, actually, BECAUSE THEY DO ALL OVER THE WORLD. In fact, worker-owned cooperative businesses are MORE common in the third world than they are in the “developed” world - mostly farming coops like the one I linked first, but business, banking, and all sorts of cooperatives are VERY common even in economically-depressed areas.

I can go on, but just search “[insert country name] coops” and you’ll find some, almost guaranteed.
Most coops start from workers in other sectors, or with other income streams combining their money together and using those funds to start their cooperative, or workers in a company will buy out or convert their company into a worker-owned cooperative. They all share in profit from the cooperative, the revenue is held by an elected treasurer, the management and directorial staff, if any, are voted upon by workers, and workers vote and have an active voice in how the proceeds are spent to better the cooperative. This is INCREDIBLY common the world over, and in some places, these types of businesses have existed before capitalism was spread there.
Here’s one near me! https://www.ourharvest.coop/
And the larger collection of coops that they associate with. https://coopcincy.org/overview
I’ll bet that no matter where you are in the world, there’s a large collection of coops that are functioning and have functioned for quite a while.
Scoobynatural is one of my favorite episodes of Supernatural, right up there with Changing Channels. I wish they had gotten the rights, the time, and the cameo money to do an X-Files crossover.
Also, “usable” does not mean “useful”. Most rail in the US is incredibly out of maintenance, and deeply limited on top speed as a result. Many trains aren’t going above 60MPH at any point in their journey not because of length or power, but because the rails (or the cars, or the engine) simply won’t allow anyone to go faster SAFELY.
And yet, we must. Assume your enemy will lose, but prepare for them to win.
I believe Driver Nephi’s weapon also counts.
Don’t forget that he deliberately slow-walked any response to the AIDS crisis…until his friend Rock Hudson contracted it. Then it was all-hands-on-deck.
I’m not sold on “driverless”. Even if it’s being monitored 24/7 by some dude in Brussels or whatever, there’s really no substitute for having someone PHYISCALLY on that train, in control, in case of an emergency or something.
Robert Pickton, is that you?
I’m unsure if there’s enough words for it to count as a full spoken language yet.
Exactly this. Hamas forces are shit for using hospitals and schools as shields, I’ll grant that. But the IDF is a proper first-world military force, and should act the part. Dislodging an occupying force from a command center or strongpoint that also happens to be full of civilians shouldn’t involve bombing the place flat with civilians inside, especially when it’s clearly marked as a noncombatant area (like a hospital or a school). The US Air Force did that, with camera and audio footage that showed the crew knew they weren’t in the right, in Afghanistan (the Kunduz hospital airstrike, 2015), and were roundly vilified for it - why should we not hold Israel to the same standard?
Yeah, I seem to remember a lot of cruise missiles hitting apartments and schools.
Yeah, there’s a really good reason anesthesiology pays a shitload of money.
