6 months agoUnfortunately, you often have this concept on Games Workshop Games. For example:
- Talisman - It’s free now, but you had to pay for the game before.
- Blood Bowl 2
- Total War Warhammer 3
- Warhammer: Age of Sigmar - Realms of Ruin
- Mordheim - City of the damend
- Warhammer Underworlds - Shadespire Edition - There are no DLCs to see, but I know, that you have to buy every other fraction, that isn’t in the base game.
In every single game I have listed, you have to buy new teams or characters via DLCs. Yes, those are normally complete teams and not one or two additional units for your fraction, like here with Gladius. But I see this behaviour in every other Games Workshop licensed game, so that it looks like GW is trying to force this behavior. This is just a feeling and I don’t have evidence for that, but it feels like that.
That being said: If you like 4X Games where the focus is at the fighting part, then this game might be for you. I have arount 60 hours in this game and it’s fun to play with friends.
I’m using Bookwyrm for about a year now, I think.
I really like it and it’s federated approach. Even though it has it’s issues (multiple different versions of the same book over multiple servers), I still like to track my readings with it and I also love to add a new book to the server to make it available for everyone :-)
So a +1 from me as well :-)
