Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra
Might be a bit difficult for people in landlocked areas.
That’s not something that really works with industries that are zero sum games. You can’t have a dozen competing rail companies in a given state because there is only so many paths that a rail system can take, and you need to clear out continuous stretches of land through eminent domain.
If a company provides a vital services and fails, it should be nationalized. If a company does not provide a vital service and fails, it shouldbe allowed to fail and the employees themselves bailed out.
The democrats will just pick another stinker. How do you think we got Biden in the first place?
The two party system needs to be fixed before we will see any actually good candidates.
We’re winning! A psychic said so!
Not really seeing anybody saying this. The sentiment moreso seems that it’s just laughing at fox news stupidity.
The air is plenty clean as it is
Tell that to the people in East Palestine Ohio. Tell that to the people that live near coal plants.
as long as you don’t live in California
Doesn’t matter where you live if the planet is uninhabitable.
Wanting to breath clean air on a habitable planet isn’t insanity.
I only live ~15 minutes from my parents. I just didn’t want to have to deal with going back and forth. Wasn’t worth it in the end.
This fundamentally and thoroughly explains what this Christmas has been like for me. Trying to move from one room to another has been a constant battle of stepping over things and pushing past clutter.
Sleeping on the couch of dog fur hasn’t been pleasant.
And the cherry on top has been my girlfriend having to go home because of her dog allergies. Hopefully next year will be better.
Yeah, it was more or less the same experience for me. My community college was the same quality teaching (and in some aspects it was better). Which just makes it infuriating that 4 year community college programs aren’t really an option.
It may not be much in comparison to others, but that doesn’t make absolve me of my debt. Practically every other developed nation has this figured out, it’s long past time we caught up.
I’ve got about $25,000 reasons why it is not in fact better.
Scholarships that only exist in the first place because we have privatized higher education, which is privatized because of greed.
I did as close to that as I could, going to community then transferring to a 4 year. The problem is deeper than people wanting extra stuff, part of the problem is that nobody respects community college degrees, and they’re usually 2 year programs.
Civilians are pretty much everywhere alongside Hamas members who are usually between them.
Yeah, so maybe they should stop dropping bombs.
Israeli actions wouldn’t be similar to any of them.
Not only is this not true, but even if it were, as I’ve already pointed out it doesn’t need to be similar. A genocide can be totally unique yet still fall under the definition of genocide.
It’s impossible not to kill civilians in such a conflict when the area you are fighting in is a densely populated city
But it is possible to not drop bombs on areas you KNOW civilians are at.
Of course genocide is not defined by numbers. However, all genocides should have some traits in common.
This is also not a part of the definition of genocide.
How should Israel respond?
I get that there are unused ways of minimizing civilian deaths
Seems like you already know the answer to that question. Yet for some reason you’re giving Israel a free pass for killing civilians. So effectively you’re just arguing for terrorism. State terrorism, but terrorism nonetheless.
Good people don’t kill civilians.
I agree that genocides have different flavors but the results of all is a completely or partially removed ethnicity. By saying partially, I mean roughly 40% killed or moved to a detention facility.
The definition of genocide contains no percentage threshold. You’re making definitions up out of thin air.
It’ll look like what we already have. Swaths of users self hosting, with lots of redundancy to deal woth instances that have problems.
And that might mean it needs to stay small, but that’s OK. Not all success is measured in popularity.
That, and a land tax
