Agreed. I’d maybe ask something like “do you want to go to a comic book store then grab a coffee afterwards?” Just to clear up any ambiguity, but this is 10x better than just asking someone to dinner.

I thought yall just prayed the bullets to stop though? Or does that only work for school children?

Maybe. I think by the time we progressed enough for UBI, we’d have already put safeguards in place to prevent these from happening though.
Now that Amazon operates their own pharmacies, how long until clinical tests for Soma begin?
I can bet that if Google got attacked it would be all over the news
Except there was literally a shooting at Google Headquarters a few years ago and the news has done everything they can to memory-hole the event because it didn’t fit the outrage bait narratives they love to perpetuate.
Mass shooters aren’t exactly known for their well-rationed thinking. On a side note, what’s up with H.G. Wells??
Go back to Reddit.
Holy shit when can we start killing landlords?
Okay but there’s something a little unsettling about it being 82° in March for me.
This is exactly what they do to social movements that threaten their bottom line.
Social media has put a new spin on keeping up with the Joneses.
Exposure to glorified lifestyles online has left many people, especially young adults, feeling financially inadequate, even if they’re doing relatively well, reports show.
This is a complete mockery of what dysphoria means to people . They know exactly what they’re doing by watering down and purposefully misusing “dysphoria” to mean “oh you’re actually doing great why are you so sad?” It’s sadistic.
Personally, I prefer the CMV strategy. Obviously, it would be possible to just create a CMV page here, but I’ve argued in the past about how fractured Lemmy communities are before and would hate to contribute to the problem.
I like being given the chance to argue against actually unpopular opinions (read: not just two-sentence ragebait posts). I think it keeps threads more active than other communities, and on a more personal note, I just enjoy good-intentioned debate with opposing views. But I also acknowledge that this isn’t entirely the purpose of Unpopular Opinion (or the original subreddit that we’re based on).
You posted this earlier and it seems to have either been removed or deleted. I’ll repost my comment I left then:
What a short-sighted world view. For your example, I don’t want a new book every day, but you know what I do want every day? To look at a nice, locally-owned small business in my town and not another A) empty store or B) soulless, corporate international chain store. So yeah, when I do want a new book or a new record, I have no problem paying a bit more than I could elsewhere to keep my town beautiful and self-reliant.
Every time I’ve watched people play video games it had more to do with listening/watching some entertaining people interact. This is also why streaming never interested me, but I could tell you a million Inside Gaming/Funhaus quotes off the top of me head without remembering a single video game they were playing.
You’re just describing work friends, a term that already exists, and using the term husband/wife. That phrasing implies a strong, romantic connection between two people, which you seem to be glossing over.
I’ll take false equivalency for $400, Alex

Do you know where the water is getting in at? I see that it’s coming out from the grout. If I understand the situation correctly, all that re-sealing that hole on the outside will do is make it so that the water sits inside the framing. I wouldn’t plug up the outlet hole until you’ve made sure that no more water will get in there.
ETA: As far as sealing it goes, I’d personally just smear a bead of silicone across wherever the water is getting in/out from. Grout can be a bit tricky to patch and blend, in my experience.
