Ooh, I hadn’t considered these. So it may actually be more impactful than I thought.

The hard part about dropping solar installation costs is the installation part itself. It doesn’t matter how cheap the panels get, it’s always going to a few, to several, thousand dollars for the installation part alone. If we could find a way to streamline that (Idk if that’s possible), then I think we’d see prices plummet.
Don’t get me wrong, dropping panel prices is a very good thing. But I don’t think it will make as much of a dent in the price as we might think.
Even then, this is still a solid 30-40% increase in downloads. That’s statistically significant right there.
I see a k following the numbers, so I’m assuming that’s total number of downloads.
There’s a pretty cool guy on YouTube called JerryRigEverything. He started a non-profit company called Not A Wheelchair that makes electric wheel chairs that can be used off road.
I’m on mobile so linking is hard, but check out notawheelchair.com to see what they make.
Edit: Oh, it auto links. Neat.
If I recall correctly, the shareholders also can and will sue you if you make a decision that earns them less money than if you had done something more profitable for them. So the companies have a legal incentive to only serve their shareholders.
This is the big thing. There are multiple niche, and not-so-niche, subreddits that just don’t exist here. Or they have nowhere near the presence as on Reddit.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m trying to fix that by contributing where I can, but I am just one person.
Because he’s not a '90s cat. He’s a '70s cat.
What if we gave them fur that glows under UV light? And then modify our headlights to give off just a little UV. Then when the light hits their fur, they glow!
Most predators don’t have UV flashlights, so this should be a viable alternative.
This is only the beginning. It’s only going to get harder and harder to know what is and isn’t real online.
Sure, you and I are aware of this and have an idea of what to look out for. But do my older parents or grandparents know about this stuff and what to look for? I seriously doubt it.
I think it would be better to think of it as, “Do we want everyone to have the same general idea of what 5pm means? Or to have everyone be on one time?”
Edit: I know it’s an imperfect question as northern/southern latitudes can get dark sooner/later than the other pending the season. But 5pm to a Californian is going to feel very different than to a German if we’re all on one time.
Those are just my thoughts, though.
You don’t have to make sure your camera is level to get a “flat” shot. You can use various photo editing programs to rotate the photo so it is level.
I’m still using Lightroom and Photoshop for editing, but there are free options like GIMP and RawTherapee.
It used to look bigger a long time ago. It’s actually moving away from us every so slightly each year. Eventually there will be no more total lunar eclipses because the moon will simply be too far away.
She also allowed the mistreatment of her two mentally handicapped cousins to continue until they died alone in mental institutions.
I carry a pair on me at all times, too. And it’s a bigger help than one might realize.
If someone is sensitive to loud noises or particular sounds, earplugs can help prevent them from being overstimulated by those sounds. If I enter a loud bar, I put them in. If I have to be around loud or crying kids, I put them in. Loud college party or hockey game? Ear plugs. Crowded fair? Ear plugs.
They allow me to stay in social situations that I would otherwise have to leave. It makes much more sense for me to put my plugs in than to expect kids to be quiet all the time. Or for everyone at a party to be respectful just for me.
One thing you could do to at least mitigate the issue is carry a set of ear plugs on you at all times. That’s what I do and it’s really helped me out in certain situations. It obviously won’t solve the problem, but if it reduces the noise level, it should make it less irritating.
Celeste isn’t the best example because it was made by a trans person. The story is literally about the dev overcoming their own internal issues with, and accepting, who they are. By default, most alt-righters aren’t going to touch that game.
Good game by the way. Would recommend.
I would have to dig to find it, but I remember reading years ago in a Car and Driver article that EV’s powered by even the dirtiest coal power plants will still return around 30 MPGe, which is better than most vehicles on the road today.
Granted that article was from before the Hummer EV, so I’m sure that number will have changed somewhat.
I remember reading about them. Those could be a game changer if we can scale them up. I’d use them as a fence if it’s feasible.
