I mean invented is a strong word. A gaming chair is usually an cheap office chair in the cool gaming style with a hefty price increase. Nothing special about it.
Ravi@feddit.deto Technology@lemmy.world•The Self-Checkout Nightmare May Finally Be EndingEnglish2·1 year agoFrom your comment I assume you are American, since I heard that people pack your bags at your stores. In Germany and probably most of Europe a typical checkout process works differently and probably solves the problem.
- You put your stuff on a large transport band, emptying your cart (probably have those as well)
- When you’re up you move your cart at the large area after the cashier
- The cashier registers everything and pushes it to you into that big area
- You put everything in your bags while they are working
- Cashier finishes, you make your payment
- You pack the last 3 items that are remaining
Some stores also introduced a simple “switch” that makes the products of the person after you slide into a seperate area, to save time .
There were also talks about calling them frake, but it has been decided to use snog, that it can also be used as a frog hybrid with snails.
That’s actually a hybrid of both animals called snog.
Ravi@feddit.deto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people hate on mobile games, call them "not real games" and mock them, when some mobile-exclusive games are the best games I've played?19·2 years agoMultiple things:
- A lot of mobile games include ridiculous micro transactions
- a lot are copy paste concepts or are missing game depth and complexity (comparable with Minesweeper or Solitaire)
- the standard input device (touch) is not great for traditional games developed for physical button games
There are definitely exceptions to the problems, but I haven’t found a mobile game yet that catches me for 100h.

Ravi@feddit.deto Technology@lemmy.world•Gamers enraged at Ubisoft for injecting ads into the middle of video gamesEnglish531·2 years agoI don’t mind a little ad in the menu, about stuff directly related to game I’m playing. Those little “Hey we released a new content dlc to this exact game” infos can actually be informative. What I really can’t stand is stuff breaking the immersion of the game. I’m not even mad about product placements, when they fit the theme and are sparsely used.

The Hunter: Call of the Wild. I have nothing to do with hunting. I’d never thought a hunting simulation could be my type of game, but putting headphones on and running through the woods is so relaxing.

Let’s say a horse can carry 450kg. Thats 450.000g / 9g/4tb = 50.000 × 4 tb = 200 pt. Latency is shit though.
It’s not that hard the article corresponds to the gender of the noune like “der Mann” for male, “die Frau” for female or “das Brot” for neutral. Oh and there are 500 exceptions to that rule, because why should natural be easy and follow a comprehensive set of rules.
Most confused words: “der Bus” (the bus, clearly male…) and “das Mädchen”(the girl, because girls are definitely not female…)

Ravi@feddit.deto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft CEO Nadella's compensation drops... to $48M — CEO to employee pay ratio hits 250 to 1English293·2 years agoI’d like to see such a rule, but doubt that there won’t be any loopholes to circumvent it. You can already see some of those in sports. There are a lot of stories on how clubs “dealt” with financial fair play in european football and I heard rumors of a similar thing with the american salary cap too.
Just some ideas:
- ridiculously long contracts with “fair” pay
- managers are working for a seperate company that only contains managers
- seperate overpayed contracts for a none existing job
- material/service based rewards like private jets
All in all good luck with finding a politician pushing this through (most lf the are exactly in those positions) and finding all the loopholes. Rich people can pay a lot of experts to become even richer
