  • Okay, but, speaking as a woman, we try to explain these issues nicely, with gentle terminology and a big helping of ‘not all of you, but some of you…’ and we get ignored, dismissed, belittled, or flat-out gaslit.

So, we try going for the shock value to get you to at least pay attention instead of dismissing what we say as background noise or ‘us silly little women worrying our silly little heads over nothing’. And then we get told we can’t talk like that, that it’s insulting, that no man would listen because we’re belittling them, that it ‘doesn’t foster discussion’.

Although at least you heard us say something so many of us take it as a small win…

So, honest question. How do we explain it to you, so we don’t offend you, but you actually hear us? Actually get an idea of what it means to be afraid of footsteps behind us when we go out at night? To get leered at when all we’re trying to do is get a good workout at the gym? To have men just take liberties, like touching us, grabbing us? To not want to mention that we are a woman online, especially in gaming circles, because of the sexist bullshit and dismissive attitudes that will inevitably show up and run us out of a group we just want to be in because we like the game, damnit?

To weigh the decision to even make a post like this, because I know it will be brigaded and will attract sexist jerks who will try to shout me down? Or even attract stalkers who will follow me across instances to harass me?

Please, tell me how. Because we want you to understand. We don’t want to chase people away from discussions. But it’s so hard, and gets so discouraging…

  • Or maybe, just maybe, more information on COVID was being gained day by day, and they were adjusting to meet that changing data. There was plenty of scientific data backing up the changes.

Plus, y’know, they had to balance the effects of a deadly disease with the need for those essential jobs.

    Good grief, get over yourself.

  • These twats believe a name in ALL CAPS is a ‘fictional shell corporation’ and a name in Regular Capitalized Lowercase is a ‘real person’. (They prove this by saying your name is written in all caps on your birth certificate because that’s when the government creates the shell corporation of you that they trade securities against.)

So this person is upset that the government is trying to trick them by having an envelope looking like it’s addressed to the real person, but inside the letter is for the shell corporation.

They don’t want to be conflated with their shell corporation in any way, because that’s the entity that’s responsible for taxes and following laws and paying back debts, stuff like that. SovCits want to live in and take advantage of society’s benefits, but they don’t want to actually contribute to it. Especially if it involves childcare.

Be careful you don’t cut yourself on all that edge.

Also fascinating that you seem to think the only people who can be sad about the death of one of the most influential mangaka are those who posted about him constantly. I’m curious; how often does one need to post about him? Daily? Weekly? Or is just one post a month sufficient?

  • Religious nutters, for one. They believe that when Christ has his Second Coming he will resurrect everyone who has ever died, but only if all their organs and stuff are intact and in place. So organ donation is just a conspiracy by Satan to keep everyone from being gloriously resurrected.

I honestly wonder what they think their bodies will look like a couple decades after they die. Do they think that, because they were ‘good little Christians’, their bodies will be staying as fresh as when they were interred?

Or maybe their ‘all-powerful’ God can only restore their organs from dust if that dust is in the right spot?
