I’d definitely still love to see it one day. And now at least that won’t catch me off guard lol.

It’s hard to describe why, but you visit that kind of place to see the wonders of nature and all that. Still, I’ll keep in mind that other person’s comment about the great feat of engineering it required.
I had no idea. That is kinda disappointing lol
What password manager do you use? I use Keeper, but I wonder if there’s a cheaper alternative that’s just as good that I haven’t looked into. I never hear of anyone using this one on Lemmy.
Those two things seem like they’d be connected…
What did he do to embarrass himself in front of you?
Ooh I’m excited to try this. Going to do this next time I want a slight snack.
Same. I’m barely in my office anymore since I started even just a hybrid work from home schedule. It’s good to separate the work space from other spaces imo
Same thing with the Hutus and the Tutsis during the Rwandan Genocide, or Turkish and Armenian people, except even closer than that probably. It’s ridiculous.
Plus Snowden’s revelations showing that the US can use them to spy on people, like they did with AT&T, Microsoft, and other US companies.
I don’t think women could get credit cards until the 70’s, so things aren’t perfect for them and the jobs and salary gaps were even more skewed then. But ya, at least penicillin was a thing.
Beautiful
I’m going to guess that everything else became so expensive, like food and rent, that people have less money to spend on a computer, and there’s is particularly expensive. But that’s just my guess.
Thankw for the post! But great. A whole new thing I didn’t know I had to look out for and worry about. Every day I’m reminded of the part of Good Place that talks about all the little bad things we do every day without meaning to or thinking about it.
Not to mention that a grid doesn’t have to be a coal or gas plant. Lots of houses have solar charging now, for example.
What’s wrong with palm oil?
I definitely know everyone can’t work from home, I’ve got a couple coworkers who can’t focus there because they got kids, or a spouse who works from home and takes meetings in the one office, or they need the social interaction. But, wfh saves gas, saves money on commute, allows saving money on childcare, more flexibility with doctor and dentist appointments, and has tons of other benefits. It’s got lots of benefits, especially in cities with tons of traffic. Having it be a choice seems like the best option all around.
Eh Lemmy needs the content. It wouldn’t be so obvious if more people posted their FB drama for us to laugh at, though.
Ya thanks for the interesting POV. I’ll try to look at it from that angle when I finally make it out over there.
