Not talk about what I’d do if a fascist government were to start looking for people like me.

Realistically that’s more like a month to 6 weeks of supply in a market that usually only has 3 weeks to 2 months of supply. It would crash the local market for 6 months, depress it for a year, and affect prices for 2 to 3 years at minimum.
I feel like that’s a case of facing the consequences of their own actions. The idea that a house is an investment, needs to die a painful death, as a warning to future generations.
When did corporate Dems like Kerry and Clinton get confused with progressives?
Now ban corporations from owning single family homes and houses will actually become affordable.
You’re not working against inflation, you’re working against the 7 billion other people who want your food, shelter and luxuries.
The problem isn’t the value of your currency, it’s your lack of bargaining power in the face of competition and entrenched interests.
I doubt they’ll use screen shots to implement anything like piracy controls. It’s too messy and inaccurate, and there are easy and accurate ways to check for file signatures. Every virus scanner already does it.
If they’re going to institute license controls that’s how it would work. Any signature of unlicensed software would get locked out by file heuristics.
Hey there are tunnels in Scotland and tunnels in Turkey. I’m sure if we just keep digging we can find where they connect…
I’m betting garbage trucks actually end up being first. A half dozen trucks per human monitor sitting back at the station, with two guys in a pickup to run out to any problems.
They were on the phone with bankruptcy lawyers before dawn. That is the ones that didn’t just disappear into hiding.
Already moved on to a boat, I’ll either be staging to leave, or already out of the country, when the election is decided. Depending on the results I’ll be back in the spring, or not.
Now I’m feeling called out. I keep having these stacks of if statements that could just be a big ass list of and and and, but then it runs into the debate of how much crap should be in one line of code? Especially knowing, at some point, it’s going to be my dumb ass stepping through trying to figure out why this one edge case is the reason we’re not hitting the inner code.
I love Nic for making movies I’d love to actually see, except for the fact that he’s in them.
So basically remaking every movie starring Nicolas Cage?
They broke into shit that had already been broken in to, and removed an intrusion. That’s literally their job.
It’s about time someone did. War is just violent economics. Taking away Putin’s income will cost him the war faster than killing Russians.
Just because you can buy a degree, doesn’t mean you have a damn clue how to perform the work. Degree’s and certs are a good indicator of a qualified candidate, but by no means can they be trusted. Even being a vet doesn’t mean a lot by itself. Although I do have to say, all of the vets I’ve known with degrees, have been highly effective employees.
Because they all hired way too many people right after the pandemic and are just realizing they fucked up.
Merchants don’t have to accept legal tender because you haven’t incurred a debt by attempting to purchase something, other than a few states as you have mentioned. It’s not a debt, it’s a market transaction. Tort law also includes provisions to be considered in the case of contracts. Absent other provisions, legal tender must be accepted if offered, and refusal of tender by a recognized representative of the creditor nullifies the debt.
A counter to that will be the trillions in money printing that’s been done and will be done. Housing will most certainly get more affordable, but is unlikely to drop in nominal price to any significant amount.
