  • Essentially all my young life I was treated like a dork because I was finding ways to reuse containers for lunch rather than get disposables. This is going back well before it was common knowledge.

Yes I was that person who had my own cotton mesh bags for veggies. Yes I got a lot of judgy looks especially from the middle aged ladies. I just embraced being seen as a dork. Figured out early I wanted to be on right side of history even if that meant I wasn’t ‘cool’. As far as I cared, this Shit went beyond me and my ego/confidence.

Now those who called me a dork not only pretend like it didn’t happen but often pass on unsolicited information to me about reuse that is now very common knowledge.

Current day I’m like yea… you have to wash it because reuse isn’t just reuse. It’s also wash well to reuse so you don’t get sick. And occasionally you stil have to throw things out that become contaminated. This part still isn’t ‘common knowledge’ yet…smh.

That is argument of popular which is fallacy and doesn’t address the argument at all. Just cuz something isn’t in the news Doesn’t mean it’s a safe world. Just doesn’t mean an event is popular to listen to. Much rape reporting doesn’t get televised because of it being so common. Just cuz something isn’t newsworthy doesn’t mean it’s still not wrong and getting unfairly dismissed

  • Sounds like they are bitter and fragile ego. I have a brother like that where he played and got frustrated. He tried playing a Few games but lost and then called them shit for the rest of his life he refer to people as wasting their life with them.

I think deep down they like them but can’t stand that they lost at something with a bit of challenge so they get bitter at those who do take it on.

Meanwhile I have plenty of relatives who just don’t care about playing games but they don’t have to get all ‘you’re wasting your life’ nor do they have an unhealthy hatred towards games. They just aren’t into them and have a ‘to each their own’ attitude which I think is a healthy approach to it.

    So there’s a difference.

  • Maybe but keys are already convenient and no training. it’s about immediate options of a weapon. Still : the take away is that women have to think about these things a lot more than men which is very fucked up. So maybe give women a break if they are gonna be interested in something that eats up their existence this much as a form of anxiety. They wanna be safe. They want to understand the whale in their life. Can’t blame a person for that.
