In my opinion, it’s acceptable to possess a ROM in this situation. Just remember up use a VPN for protection.

I have to say that I am getting pretty good at Linux. I use it on my gaming desktop, my 8 year old Lenovo, on a specialized workstation at work, and I have two servers running it. It’s approaching general utility.
That said, I am being defeated by Broadcom wireless drivers on a HP Enterprise laptop. They aren’t just working, and the wireless soft switch isn’t just turning on. Until we can get to the point where the average user can just try a bunch of .deb (or whatever) files until they hit the jackpot, it isn’t going to be as easily adopted.
I don’t get too technical with the court reporter software. They have their own license and receive direct support from their vendor. What I have seen is that there is an interpreting layer between the stenographer machine and the software, literally called magic by the vendor, that is a bit like predictive text. In this situation, the stenographer is actively recording and interpreting the results.
I work in judicial tech and have heard questions of using AI transcription tools. I didn’t believe AI should be used in this kind of high risk area. The ones asking if AI is a good fit for court transcripts can be forgiven because all they see is the hype, but if the ones responding greenlight a project like that there will be some incredibly embarrassing moments.
My other concern is that the court would have to run the service locally. There are situations where a victim’s name or other information is redacted. That information should not be on an Open AI server and should not be regurgitated back out when the AI misbehaves.
Mine is snow levels. I feel miserable playing them, like I was sitting outside in Sub-Zero temps.
I know this isn’t what you meant but:
Ah. I thought they were fully following in the footsteps of Microsoft.
Edit: I just read tfa. It was a blurb.
Even if they don’t use it for AI in particular, they will have a private nuclear power facility for their data centers. They would absolutely take advantage of that power generation if it was originally publicly funded.
Corporate entities are typically their own fascist state. The boss says how it goes. Employees typically have little input.
During COVID I had an employee that complained about masks because they were undemocratic. I reminded them that the employees do not vote on policy.
Damnit, I was just about to create trump coin, too.
I’m gaming just fine on mint. It’s like the old days when I would install something and not be sure if it worked, but so far most things have been working more or less out of the box. Installing and patching mods to final fantasy 7 took a little bit because I wasn’t familiar with the terms being used, but it was a couple hours, not a few days.
That makes sense. It sounds helpful if you have a bunch of requests.
Nope. Is it for people to ask me to add stuff to sonarr?
Older geek here. I started with Plex and torrent. Added sonarr. Researched and switched to jellyfin. Learned about arr stack. Moved services to docker.
It’s now super low maintenance. If I need to update a service, I just kill and recreate it. I have a second machine for media storage.
I think I spent a weekend building the arrstack and I have a few days total working on the home made NAS.
Sandwich gas company road work for network upgrades mocked over incomplete paint job. Got it.
If you drew this, it is fantastic.
Whoops. I read the alt text before I realized it.
You should not have any issues. Worst case scenario is that one is slower than the other and will cause the faster one to step down, but unless one is significantly slower, you should have no issues.
Generally, in the past 10 years at least, mixed memory on dual channel configuration has not been an issue.
I’m using truenas for my homebrew setup. I need to buy 2 more drives and start planning on rebalancing my setup, but this is how it looks right now.
I loved that show. Unfortunately, when I was explaining it, one of the ass hats in class thought I was talking about the ‘gay’ show with the inside out guy. There was no further discussion.
