Bro, it’s alright if someone has a different sense of humor than you do. No need to argue. Nobody was actually hurt.

4·2 days agoYou have no idea. And I’m a straight, white male.
Not everyone should be allowed to drive, either. Meanwhile here in Texas they give you a license regardless of any proven capability to use your eyes or think.

Technology@lemmy.world•DRAM prices are spiking, but I don't trust the industry's reasons why
81·10 days agoThat’s just how electronics recycling is, though. The amount of labor it would take to save all those SMT and BGA components is ridiculous and, honestly, is a pretty specialized skill even if it is easy to learn. The logistics of scale really makes it unreasonable, especially when simpler components can be had for literal pennies. There’s a point where the material cost of the copper is worth more than the labor it takes to do anything else with the board, and it happens a lot sooner than you think.
Having, had, what’s the difference?

World News@lemmy.world•US can’t overcome manufacturing gap with China
12·15 days agoUm, duh? Does anyone understand how long it takes to build manufacturing equipment or the buildings meant to house it all? Or if that equipment can even reasonably be manufactured itself? Or if there are even enough people to do the work? Or if enough of those people are educated well enough to do the work? Or if there’s money anywhere to make any of that possible at all never mind within a reasonable timeframe?
We need to make trains better and far more numerous to make driving the lesser alternative.
I dunno but they’re all over Austin. I go out of my way to slow down when they do this, and inevitably they stay behind me instead of moving over. When they finally do move over, I speed up to whatever I was going before while keeping a safe distance between me and the car in front of me. Without fail they get slowed down by traffic in the lane they just moved into.
G… gary? Boy, you’ve… changed. Thank you…?

13·19 days agoPeople shock me every day. On one hand, it’s impressive that they have the skills or knowhow to be in the positions they are… and then you find out they believe the Earth is flat or they can’t spell or understand grammar to save their lives. It’s truly baffling at times.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you objectively tell if a parents "I love you" is actually sincere, if they actually care about you? Or if the words are lies and they don't actually care?

7·23 days agoIt really depends on the quality and amount of sleep I’ve gotten. Lately it’s been pretty bad, so it takes me a bit to ‘wake up’ so to speak.
