That’s an astute observation and you’re probably right. Doesn’t rule out someone f’ing up IRL but it makes the whole thing less believable for sure.

This looks like an average road in the Netherlands. The only thing that seems odd is the lack of a bike lane, but otherwise this is pretty mundane over there.
I am 100% with the women choosing the bear over an unknown man. Most wildlife, including bears, just want to be left alone to do their own thing. You can safely assume that the most likely thing to happen is the bear just does it’s own thing and lets you be. An unknown man is a much less predictable entity, and as such should be treated with a lot more suspicion.
Side note for those wanting to be pedantic: Bears vary in their level of habituation and indifference to humans as a result. More habituated bears may associate you with food, and some may even see you as food (depending on species) This will affect their aggression towards you, but as a general rule of thumb it’s still safe to assume any random bear would be more inclined to leave you alone or just steal your food than to actively want to harm you.
I think what is considered acceptable strongly depends on where you live to be honest. Driving while druk (a felony offense in most places) is extremely frowned upon by the general public. At least, it is where I live.
Although I do get where you are coming from in terms of other behaviors, there’s a reason traffic violations are the most ticketed offenses in just about any country.
I’m not saying or suggesting that it’s a pedestrian, cyclist, driver, or anyone else’s sole responsibility to stay safe. In fact, I strongly believe the “stronger” party has an outsized responsibility to make sure they act safely and not endanger other road users.
All I’m advocating for is for all participants to be vigilant and not assume right of way will be honored by the other party.
Ultimately, only you can keep you safe. Don’t assume anyone is flawless. Regardless of where you are driving a car, walking, cycling, etc. people can and will make mistakes, miss something, or forget to check.
“I had the right of way” makes a terrible headstone slogan.
I guess this is one of those times where being old and having played the first two installments of the series mentioned, because that was what was out at the time, makes you look cool. Right guys?
Yeah, that’s what made me get premium. Even before the adblocker crackdown, the prospect of supporting creators and being able to ditch Spotify’s horrible artist compensation model made it a simple choice.
Coal rolling is the stupidest shit ever in terms of car modifications. You’re spending money to modify a vehicle so it will make less power, pollute more, and have reduced longevity.
There is no upside unless you’re a massive asshole who likes to smoke screen bystanders, at which point you should be charged for assault with a deadly weapon.
Not only should eBay work harder to stop these mods being sold on their platform, people that roll coal should have their licenses suspended. And yes, they ought to be charged if they ever pull a stunt next to other road users.
Doesn’t Italy have any bears and wolves around anymore? I mean, they’re probably significantly less common than Canada, but still. I thought there would be some apex predators left.
Looks blissful. To be a cat in an urban environment without any predators to worry about must seem pretty nice.
I’d much rather they implement the right to deletion. I know they will get their hands on a ton of data, regardless of how we write the clause. But at least let me delete that data when I want it gone.
I still find it frustrating to see the exact same vehicles get significantly different tow ratings here vs Europe.
The other day the dealer tried to warn not to tow my utility trailer with my car as it would hurt the transmission (trailer was empty by the way). I pulled up an article from the UK where it was in the top three of best towing cars for this year.
Dealer looked at me like his brain needed to reboot, after which he told me the cars in Europe must be built differently or get different transmissions and left it at that.
It’s truly baffling that manufacturers here hold that towing capacity hostage for arbitrary reasons.
As someone familiar with Microsoft’s meeting culture, this is pretty accurate. If you want to attend every meeting in the day, you will be in three meetings at once. At a minimum.
