There is no ‘M’ or ‘O’ in the statement “six percent of fifty” There also is no exponentiation so I have no idea what you are on about
It is rhyming slang
It means yank or someone from the USA in Australian english. Commonly used in Australia and anti-USA circles.
Surprised how many people don’t know this. I suspect it is because people forget that percent literally means per 100 or /100 and the of is standing in for multiplication. So 6% of 50 is 6/100 * 50 or 6 * 50 * 1/100
6% of 36 is 0.06 * 6². 6³ = 216 so 2.16
Does the creator of seppo know what seppo means? Is the intent for it to mean the same thing or is it named that for some other reason?

The difference between “civilized” and “uncivilized” countries is that “civilized” countries call their terrorists “counter-terrorists” and “civilized” countries are allowed to bomb “uncivilized” countries in the name of civility.

Similarly, in Julius Caesar’s day, his name would have been pronounced Kai-zar and in modern latin and italian, it is Chai-zar.
ZoDoneRightNow@kbin.earthto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you pronounce "centaur" and why?2·6 months agoCent as sent + taur as tor. We pronounce most greek c’s as s in english as is cicero or cent being pronounced with an s sound instead of a k sound. Tor is the same as in taurus. Mine is not the only correct pronunciation, my explanation is just the justification for my specific pronunciation

It wasn’t a fine though. They were ordered to pay the catering companies for damages and lost revenue, doesn’t say anything about a fine.
