If it is, I’m going to move to Iceland to grow wheat and bake and sell bread. This software engineering thing suddenly doesn’t seem all that lucrative.
ARM and RISC-V are entirely different in that neither one is based on the other, but what they have in common is that they’re both RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing) architectures. RISC is what makes ARM CPUs (in your phone, etc) so efficient and hopefully RISC-V will get there too.
x86 by comparison is Complex Instruction Set Computing, which allows for more performance in some cases, but isn’t as efficient.
Lifelong iOS hater who moved to iOS 2 years ago here. They’re different strokes for different folks.
If you’re like I used to be, get an Android! Flash a custom ROM on it! All the freedom is amazing.
Now I have an iPhone. It may even lack some features Android has. It gets them slower. But the experience is ridiculously polished and consistent. This is a device I can’t have fail on me.
I still use Linux on my gaming PC and one of my work laptops. I love it. I love fiddling with things. I just want my phone to be an appliance like my fridge now. I buy it and forget it for the next few years.
I believe you can already play games on the Tesla’s screen.
I do hope they’re disabled when driving…
All three? Surely you must be forgetting OUYA, KFC and Soulja Boy!
Born in that time frame. Windows XP was just finicky as hell, no matter how much praise it got later. If you wanted your Internet to work you just had to flush the DNS cache or just disable and re-enable the interface occasionally. Hell, same for my mouse - occasionally had to use the keyboard to disable and re-enable the mouse drivers.
Now shit just works. Only reason I’ve had to fiddle around so much in recent years is that I used Gentoo for a couple of years. Though by the time I was bored with it, it worked better than Windows XP ever did.
Given that a lot of other people are praising him and his videos, could you maybe point out some of these mistakes?
I know it could probably be googled, but it’s always better to come to a discussion with information if you’re going to criticize someone or something (to be fair - it’s also better to have information if you’re praising someone or something)
Worked at a company where the previous devs had implemented their own frameworks for front and backend. Obviously 200 was the only possible code.
For real, does the entirety of a sexual encounter consist of penis-in-vagina for him? I prefer there to be like an hour of foreplay and I’m a dude. I mean I could go right away too, but the feeling is very, very different for myself too, not just my partner.
Depends on the situation. I’m working and my wife is currently a SAHM because the little one is quite tiny indeed. When I get home after work I take the baby off her hands for a while because I KNOW my wife had a more exhausting day than I did because of the little demonsangels. And anything the 3yo needs, I’ll be there for her so she doesn’t bother mom with everything.
Sometimes it does feel like I’m babysitting or giving her a break, because she for sure spends way more time and energy on them throughout the day.
Operating system so TrueNAS in your case
People keep saying you can’t use Nvidia GPUs with Linux or that the experience is horrible, but truth be told, if you already have one, you can keep it no problem. The main scenario where it still had issues as of last year was if you used KDE Plasma with Wayland on Nvidia (though I hear Plasma 6 improved a lot of it - not sure, because I didn’t have a lot of issues on Plasma 5 either).
Your best bet for Nvidia GPUs is an Ubuntu-based distro. Ubuntu itself is an option though not necessarily the best - they bake in some ads and a lot of people aren’t fans of being forced to use Snap, which has a proprietary backend unlike Flatpak. Personally I’d say go for Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop if you want a Windows-like desktop environment and Pop!_OS if you want something completely different altogether from Windows. On Mint or Ubuntu you can install the drivers from the provider proprietary driver installer (super simple), on Pop!_OS you can just get a Nvidia iso and have them preinstalled.
But honestly, I didn’t even have issues with Nvidia when I was on Gentoo, supposedly one of the harder distros to maintain.
Would I buy a Nvidia GPU now that I’ve completely ditched Windows? Probably not, but I’m also not in a hurry to replace my 3060 Ti just to get rid of the logo.
I was satisfied with Apple Music myself (until I no longer had need for it), but I keep hearing that Tidal is one of the better services if Apple doesn’t quite cut it for you. Supposedly they have a reasonably fair cut for the artists compared to Spotify, and also good audio quality (to be fair, Apple has high quality available too, if you enabled it in the settings)
Oh lucky you
You mean like this morning or in general?
I’m amazed nobody has yet linked the alternative, http.dog
Did you use a Handy to write this comment?
It might, but PC would definitely have its share of older gamers. MMORPGs for an example, attract them. I believe the oldest I ran into in my Runescape days was over 70. Of course that’s if you believe peoples’ claimed ages.
Which STILL has the 6th highest GDP per capita (10th if you count tax-haven microstates and overseas territories).
Centuries of mass immigration built the US economy. Y’all are acting like economics is all zero-sum and more people = everyone is poorer, but the amount of jobs doesn’t stay constant as the amount of people increases. The US always had an influx of immigrants to fuel the ever-growing economic machine.
There’s plenty of reasons why a lot of people in the US can’t afford to live in cities, etc. None of it is because of immigration, it’s mostly corporate greed and stupid zoning laws.
