These kind of policies seem to be cropping up everywhere right now. The EU just rejected a similar policy. I wonder if there is a coordinated effort behind this and if so, who is behind that effort?

I have a slightly different theory. Basically they haven’t arrived because they look at their navigator, sees that our planet is named dirt and just assume the developers forgot to delete a test value.
I had the same idea a couple years back and even though I would love something that you download and just run and it would work, I realized that in order to get a decent adoption rate, you would need a whole ecosystem, similar to apple in order for it to work.
I still think you can develop something like a hub where you install services like apps, but I doubt it would attract anyone outside selfhosting circles.
I have no idea, I don’t hang out with bullies.
There are several things you can and should do to harden your server, many of them can be found here.
The movie It’s a Wonderful Life still holds up pretty well.
My favorite personal anecdote was when one of our security educators send an email explaining how he managed to click a phishing link, log in and then realize it was a fake website login.
Apparently he got an email telling him that the local scanner in the office had send him some material and he needed to authorize the transfer into his inbox by logging in.
People are by far the biggest security risk. I have seen personally tailored phising scams that were even able to fool experienced secops staff.
Redoubled my efforts to selfhost more services, abandoned reddit and generally started using the www less.
They do know that that’s exactly the information that’s behind every scam right?
To be fair, literally everything in that picture is bizarre or weird.
To be fair, those kill bots had a kill limit, this is actually worse.
The one that inspires and keeps you engaged.
Probably resting bitchface if they do video surveillance. If audio only, most likely Mr talks-to-himself
Absolutely! Less trolls, real people with real opinions make for a far more interesting community to be a part of.
A flunky really hit the head on the nail with the EU champion for this law. The woman who championed the CSA proposal has proven to not understand the basic technology behind the proposal, and have met every argument with “but think of the children”.
