My favorite way to share files is to compose an email and attach the file. I then save it as a draft and then go to another computer and open that draft and download the file. Its the best method and it has worked for at least a decade. Sometimes you have to send it to yourself but the method is perfect

Very appropriate description but missing the most important religious ritual of all: The Meeting. The Meeting is a way to worthship the hierarchy and prove ones worth. Since you can’t just look at nothing and talk about your lives (there is a dedicated “fun meeting” for that) you need something to look at and talk about. This is why PowerPoints are for. PowerPoint are mostly pictures and some words around numbers. Since numbers are scary these numbers are of course color coordinated with good numbers being green and bad numbers as red. So during a meeting you talk about these numbers and make sure they are all the correct color and if not have to remake the PowerPoint to ensure they are the correct color. These numbers are sometimes put together to make lines which need to go up or else they are bad.

Only the most important people have meetings all day and once you have meetings all day you need to make sure you only have important meetings. A really important Meeting has Meetings about it beforehand and afterwards. The higher level the people in the meeting and the more rare the meeting the more important the meeting. There is one most important meeting which is rare and only the most important go to: The Board Meeting. This where C-Suits meet with The Board who are C-suits at different companies. At this meeting they talk about all the numbers and make sure they are all the correct colors and lines all go up.

That’s true. Also smaller organization can be easily taken over my petty individuals for their petty needs

That makes complete sense. Not a great history continues to not a great present

HOA are just such a strange concept because they could be such a useful force that has been corrupted into an engine of uniformity and roadblocks.

You would think a local organized organization would be quick and nimble to meet the needs of it’s small group of citizens who know each other. But they got bogged down in petty arguments and minor aesthetic changes. Local municipal governments got stuck in the same trap. Too much regulation of minor aesthetic issues.

I don’t know the solution but interesting

I had to a video taped “interview” almost a decade ago where I had to dress up and then verbally answer questions which I didn’t know ahead of time. It was awful and one of the most degrading things I have ever done. The best thing was I had a survey afterwards about how the experience went. I gave it all the lowest score and wrote that I no longer want to work on a company that would put me through this.

It is going to be even worse with an AI Interviewer. What is the point of that? What are they going to learn that is different from a resume or written summary? This is the most dystopian thing I have seen in a long time.
