I pirated a game yesterday. That game was a console game for a console that hasn’t been sold in 20+ years. I don’t feel bad about it.

If the publisher had wrapped it in an emulator and stuck it on steam for $5 I’d probably have just bought it.

The main benefit for me is supporting the creators. The secondary benefit is not having to deal with YouTube.

The profiles HDMI 2.1 enables are even worse - 4k@120fps type stuff. Not exactly something needed for a movie.

The option to disable third party cookies has been in pretty much every browser (Chrome included) for decades. OP is talking about Google’s move to make it the default.

Ironically, the only time in my adult life when not being able to use the mouse on my computer for 5 minutes would’ve been a major disruption to me was when I had a Mac.

I’ve bought my TVs because all my relatives are the same as us. My mom finally tossed an old CRT TV a couple of years ago because it started having issues displaying colours correctly.

To be fair… Electric cars have many of the same planet-damaging properties of gasoline powered ones. They’re a step in the right direction and necessary for the cases where we can’t replace cars, but they’re still an incredibly energy-intensive means of transportation that release enormous amounts of particulate pollution from the tyres and take up huge amounts of land. When combined with other changes we’ve made to our built environment to accommodate cars, they also leave many people in a catch-22 where they’re forced to pay hundreds of dollars every month for car ownership because we’ve demolished and rebuilt our cities in a way that makes not owning a car impractical.
