Oddly enough I’ve been playing High on Life on the Steamdeck. I give it a solid 6/10.
The art style is cool and the characters aren’t as annoying as I thought they would be, but damn is it shallow.
All levels are basically the same but the gunplay and movement are nice enough to keep me around. I just play it while watching TV with my girlfriend. Nice mix of a wave shooter and platforming. It really reminds me of Doom in a way

Yeah this is one of the things keeping me from using Lemmy as much. I am subscribed to multiple Steam Deck, Patient Gamer, and technology communities and they all have different levels of activity and I see a lot of duplicate posts.

Also these companies get private investing for the games they create. The ads just sound like long-term monetization of a product. ‘Passive income,’ some would say lol. They’re definitely not paying for their next games with ads on a 4 year old game if that’s what your implying
I got the game for $7 on fanatical last week and yesterday whenever I was playing it, I went to go take a dumb and there was an ad for an AMC show.
Really took me out of it tbh.

Whenever I’m working on a big photoshop file and I find myself using a tool very often, I bind the side buttons to that tool. At minimum I always keep the redo, undo buttons binded to the mouse.
Whenever I’m browsing the web I have forwards and backwards binded so I don’t have to move my mouse across the screen to go back a page.
It’s all trivial stuff but it makes my workflow slightly more fluid. I initially bought the mouse for gaming, but it has been super useful for me outside of gaming

I know a lot of people from central/south america that are mad about that and they make a comment whenever you say “american.” They prefer the term “estadounidense” which is just someone who is from the USA.
I don’t blame them because it is pretty self centered especially whenever there are two whole ass continents that term could apply to, but I don’t think get the anger around it lol.
My partner recently had a financial and vehicle emergency and to help out I moved in with her. I now drive her around and help pay for her rent. I was supposed to stay for a week and now it’s been about two months.
I moved out of my parents to do this and because I cannot afford it, I do not pay part of their rent now. They can afford to get by, but my dad’s work van recently broke down and he works out of that truck so it has affected his income and he now has to replace the van which is very expensive.
They are now struggling financially and I feel like I could help if I move back in with them to help pay for rent. They are now in the same situation my partner was in two months ago, but I have not left to help them and it eats me up inside every morning when I wake up.
