  • There are no refugees fleeing either country, the borders are locked down and heavily militarized.

The people who do cross the border with visas are very few and only get access via special approval such as if they have family or business due to closeness to the border.

Pakistan doesn’t even accept refugees as citizens anymore because they don’t ever expect anyone to come from India.

The joke is that Pakistan’s founders claimed a united India would never last because it would fall to the Hindu majority who would nationilze around their identity and oppress everyone else which is exactly what happend. And not just with Muslims, the Sikh as well who get frequently blamed for public outrage and protests.

This all happening just gives credit for Pakistan’s purpose because it is a separate country that was created with the intent of avoiding explained problem by being a separate entity and moving all the Muslims there. For its purpose of avoiding being an oppressed minority, it succeded.

Although I do think they should reopen the border and let the remaining Muslim population in India easily move seeing as they are at the hands of Modi who was already involved in a Massacre not even 2 decades ago.

  • Because if a vuln gets found or exploited, it gets immediately patched, often with some big backing by OEMs that run on Linux.

Open source also reduces the likelihood of exploitable bugs going unnoticed because everyone can see and play with the source code by themselves.

There is a risk of malicious merge requests, but so far that hasn’t been a problem besides a university getting banned for pointing out the issue with a live test without telling the devs.

Much of linux is also designed to be hardened by default because it’s used on so much infara. SELinux by itself is a great example because it was essentially created by RedHat and now is a major standard for MAC.

Windows on the other hand needs Microsoft alone to solve the problem. No one can patch it themselves, and there’s no guarantee the patches will work, which has happened several times. I believe print spooler basically had to be disabled because there was no good solution due to implementation.

The amount of Windows OS specific exploits vs Linux specific exploits kind of shows the results of closed source vs open source.

The worst vuln I can think of for Linux is dirty cow which is a local priv esc on basically Linux kernels 2.x-4.x which was a big deal when it was discovered because of the range of versions

Meanwhile windows had eternal blue, a whole remote code execution that existed on every version of windows since win95 that the NSA kept for probably a decade before it was leaked.

  • Not to be that guy but is there even any vertical video social media that currently provides what TikTok does as an exact competitor?

Youtube shorts is so horrendous I have it blocked via revanced.

This seems more like an excuse to get rid of competition than spyware allegations. It’s not like CISA has some big report on TikTok software dump. Everything they do is mirrored by Facebook down to the COPPA violations that congress doesn’t seem to care Zuck is abusing.

  • This is especially apparent and a major downgrade on war thunder because you need to be able to see player tanks and aircraft in the distance which ends up being like 3 pixels on your screen which DLSS will make invisible lol.

There are definitely some games that benefit from this, but the inconsistency is still enough that its not really useful for FPS and Multiplayer games where even the slightest change on your screen can dramatically affect your gameplay. A sharp 60fps is much preferable to an AI generated 120 fps which may remove detail and accuracy.
